Job Description

Position: Account Manager – Performance Adhesives & Specialties

Location: Burlington or Oakville, Ontario

Territory: Grand Toronto Area

Status: Full-time Permanent (1)

We are currently seeking an energetic and highly motivated sales professional to fill the position of Account Manager for our Performance Adhesives & Specialties group. We are looking for a candidate who will bring professional sales experience to this position to maintain a territory (GTA) with a focus on developing relationships with existing customers and prospecting for new customers.


Reporting to the Sales Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible of promoting Quadra's products in the performance adhesives and specialties industry. We are looking for a person with good technical knowledge and experience in the industrial adhesives industry.

What are the main responsibilities of the Account Manager – Performance Adhesives & Specialties?:

  • Cold calling potential customers
  • Assist with customer troubleshooting and optimization opportunities
  • Providing technical assistance for established customer base
  • Ensure the planning and organization of his/her time while participating in any other various projects as requested by the Sales Manager
  • Manage key customer relationships, in line with Quadra’s core values and strategic vision
  • Qualify key decision makers, establish and maintain relationships with them to obtain repeat and new sales
  • Promoting our portfolio of hot melt/liquid and structural adhesives and sealant
  • Actively participate in financial forecasting exercises
  • Developing strong relationships with new and existing customers and grow sales with both
  • Develop and utilize internal and external resources, showcasing Quadra’s reputation for service excellence
  • Sell Quadra’s superior product line to potential customers through routine customer visits, joint calls and participation in industry events
  • Maintain and grow a strong established customer base in general packaging applications as well as some automotive accounts
  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements
  • Manage tight timelines and deal with after hour emergencies
  • Weekly reporting and scheduling


The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills in developing, following up and closing sales opportunities
  • Excellent negotiation skills and strong business acumen
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time, including overnight travel
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in customer prospecting and business development; proven track record of sales growth and customer retention – business to business experience is key
  • Strong computer skills, experience with a CRM (ideally Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Possess a strong analytical and technical skill set necessary to learn and troubleshoot adhesive applications
  • Experience in the industrial adhesives market with knowledge of the manufacturing sector is considered an asset
  • Bring proven presentation and written communication skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel outside of Canada
  • Ability to be self-motivated, self-directed, learn new technologies and adapt to new situations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Administration, Marketing, or in a science field
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and initiative
  • Possess a high degree of organization, planning and multi-tasking skills
