Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

The Supervisor - Ambulatory Care provides leadership to clerical staff promoting patient centered care at the Elgin Avenue outpatient clinics and the William Avenue Community Services Building.

• Ensures the quality of service provided is in alignment with standards
• Delegates work assigenments and recommends solutions based on workload performance indicators, monitoring staffing, rotations, schedules, supplies and capital equipment and supports regional and provincial initiatives, data/workflow analysis and the development of training/troubleshooting materials/SOPs
• Coaches and mentors direct reports in workflow standards
• Assists the Manager with the hiring and performance management of clerical staff
• Supervises clerical staff ensuring that standard operating procedures are followed

Experience

• 3 years supervisory experience preferably in a unionized health care setting and services organization including:
• 2 years of experience with health information functions including patient registration, health records management, access, collection and disclosure of personal health information, data management and analysis and requirements for recording patient information.
• 2 years of experience with a focus on planning and implementing and data management and the promotion of data quality and integrity
• 2 years of experience with ambulary care and/or clinic work
• 2 years of experience working knowledge of Accuro Medical record and EPR.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Post-secondary certificate or diploma health administration, management or business administration, or related from an accredited post-secondary education institution.

Qualifications And Skills

• Demonstrated mid-level leadership capabilities
• Additional certification in Lean Six Sigma, quality and/or business improvement related methodologies and analyses are considered assets
• The provincial health system in Manitoba has adopted the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework

Physical Requirements

• This job has multiple locations and the incumbent will need to support staff at all identified sites-currenty Elgin and Community Services Building
• Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings at multiple sites throughout the organization, and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg
• Interruptions to respond to questions from site and leadership as well as employees at site of responsibility are common; dedicated and focused time for planning and concentration can be scheduled
