Two years recent surgical nursing experience required.

Experience with pre- & post-op care of patients following abdominal surgery preferred.

Recent Ambulatory Care experience required.

Experience with scheduling applications, such as EPR, EMR (Accuro).

Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program required.

Nursing care knowledge related to clinical area.

Previous related work experience preferred.

Complete high school education, Manitoba standards.

Successful completion of a recognized Unit Clerk training program required.

Typing/keyboarding skills minimum 40 wpm required.

Ability to organize, manage time and prioritize workload.

Preference will be given to candidates competent in an Aboriginal language and/or knowledgeable in Aboriginal customs, beliefs, and practices.

Recent, related, experience is an asset.

Current Emergency nursing experience preferred.

Assists the Manager with the hiring and performance management of clerical staff

2 years of experience working knowledge of Accuro Medical record and EPR.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

3 years supervisory experience preferably in a unionized health care setting and services organization including:

2 years of experience with ambulary care and/or clinic work

At least 2 years recent post-surgical care experience required;

Recent Critical Care/ PACU experience required;

Ability to integrate and apply critical thinking skills to patient care;

Venipuncture and IV Certification required;

Knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control best practice;

Demonstrated knowledge in patient centre care approach and principles

Post graduate course in I.C.U. Nursing or equivalent I.C.U. experience required.

Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program required.

Two (2) years’ recent, related acute medical-surgical experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Palliative Care experience and completion of related coursework is an asset.

Demonstrated knowledge of approaches and systems in place (e.g. iPace, EPAIRS, etc.)

Demonstrated skill in performing RN autonomous scope of practice and standards of care relevant to palliative patient/client group.

Three years of clinical experience in the care of patients with Palliative Care and medically complex needs

Demonstrated leadership and decision-making abilities.

Graduate of an approved School of Nursing and currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Provides input into the discharge planning, consideration for admission and or transfer of residents into or out of the unit;

Provides direct nursing interventions for management of crisis and life threatening situations.

Participates in and attends in-service training presentations and other educational programs as required.
