The Assistant Director develops and drives the execution plan of the market segment fulfilling a "Strategy and Operations" role in support of our go to market efforts by Market segment. The Assistant Director works with the market segment leader ("MSL") and market segment leadership team, including sector leaders, service line leaders and account leaders ("MSLT" or also called the Market Board) to bring the strategic plan to life.


The Assistant Director immediately impacts growth & performance culture, productivity, revenue, margin and pipeline by driving streamlining strategic initiatives, overseeing program management, and driving engagement and accountability through the market segment team and accounts.


The Assistant Director role reports directly to and is evaluated by the Market Segment Leader, the members MSLT and the Canadian Markets Leader. The framework for the Assistant Director role is applied consistently, is defined by the Canadian Markets MP, and the Assistant Director are part of a Community of Strategy and Operations roles facilitated by the Canadian Market leader.


Responsibilities Of This Role


  • Supports the monthly and quarterly sales, revenue and margin forecasting, as well as the oversee and manage the prioritization and visibility and ROI over the total business development spend of the Market segment (and natural cascade through sectors and accounts) with the MSLT and the Canadian Market Leader.
  • Drive the appropriate pipeline culture of discipline and accuracy working with the Market's CE/AM community and GCSPs in support of the MSLT, and relay into SL processes (ie. Consulting). Leverage G360/Focus account review meetings to drive awareness and better discipline.
  • Participate in Canada Markets Strategy & Operations ("S&O") Community through regular meetings to stay connected to key Canada Market milestones, initiatives, governance, and be part of the markets broader community, acting as the relay to drive Market wide initiatives into sectors and market segment and to feedback leading practices to take across all sectors/markets at a National level.
  • Serve as the segment subject-matter expert, primary point of contact to direct inquiries; acting as a key connector across the market segment, service lines and functions.
  • Drive and support the most strategic market segment/sector business initiatives within the MSEP (and related sector plans), from development through monitoring and successful execution, teaming with all relevant functions (Markets MP, Finance, Branding, Marketing, Communications, Pursuit Center, Talent).
  • Contribute to and coordinate the development of the yearly planning process of the Market segment (GIP, Market Segment Execution Plan "MSEP", sector and account planning processes).
  • Advise on communication and engagement needs with the larger employee and leader group in the market segment. The Assistant Director plays a central role in recommending strategies and actions to motivate behaviours and actions that increase individual and team impact in our accounts. Examples: raising visibility and awareness level of market relevant thought leadership, market relevant solutions and alliances, driving leading practices through accounts, highlighting wins that can be leveraged across focus/G360 accounts or core, etc.)
  • Elevate leading practices, and drive consistency of practices within own Market segment/sectors/accounts, working with all relevant PPEDs to gain alignment and increase performance, feeding these practices into the Canada Markets S&O Community
  • Drive the execution of the Client Experience (CX) program for the segment (supported by the CX and Business Development (BD) teams).
  • Oversee the planning and execution of the Market Board/MSLT meetings (agenda, minutes, action plans) leveraging the administrative support of the leaders responsible for the events (EAs, GDS, etc.).


It is not the intent of this role to drive pursuits or marketing campaigns. This role is to bring the strategic plans to fruition.

Requirements


  • Proven experience building and maintaining relationship with executives
  • Experience conducting and interpreting financial analysis, interpret data and identify financial trends
  • Strong project management skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders and complex projects and initiatives at one time.
  • In-depth knowledge of sales management, and relationship and opportunity tools and processes
  • 5+ Years of working with various Market Segments
  • Ability to review reports, interpret data and identify trends that will assist in further targeting appropriate go-to-market activities that will generate pipeline growth
