Job Description

This is a Base Salaried + Commission role. Base salary is $100,000/per year. Commission structure is tiered, anticipated pay for successful incumbent is $150,000-$250,000 per year. In this role, you will travel weekly 3-4 days per week to customer locations.


The Area Sales Manager's primary responsibilities are developing and managing their territory, developing and growing customer relationships, and selling capital equipment offerings from Nothum Food Processing Systems.


Primary Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities for customer demonstrations (both on-site and at Nothum)
  • Become an expert in active customer base in regard to current Nothum equipment, production, and maintenance practices
  • Develop and enhance customer relationships with multiple levels at customer locations to include but not limited to Complex Managers, Plant Management, Maintenance Managers, and Engineers at all active customers, potential customers, and prospects.
  • Replacement equipment
  • Establish and manage plan to ensure sufficient customer communication with customers of all categories and levels including a consistent travel plan to maximize in-person communication
  • Utilize and maintain all applicable information, including a healthy pipeline of opportunities, in CRM
  • Work with the Director of Sales to create corporate-level plans, growth plans, and territory development
  • Promote and sell all Nothum equipment offerings within the territory
  • Spare parts and services with equipment orders
  • Identify opportunities for growth with existing Notum equipment portfolio, or new products within our arena
  • New full lines


Job Requirements


  • Valid driver's license and current Passport, this territory includes regions across the U.S. and Canada
  • Proven history of successful relationship-building and sales performance.
  • Possess or build a full technical understanding of all Nothum equipment offerings
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to travel via automobile and air to customer sites across multiple states and Canada
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Google equivalents
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere as a leader and as a participant
  • 5-10 years of applicable experience in Capital Equipment Sales at levels above $250K.
  • Experience working with a CRM
  • Goal-oriented and self-driven
  • Ability and desire to travel 75% of the week, every week.
  • Some college experience or technical degree required, 4-year degree preferred
