Role Overview
The Regional Sales Manager will co-create and embed a high-performance team culture aligned to Regeneron’s vision, values, and strategic direction (within Canada).
Manage a team of Sales Specialists within the Western provinces and a portion of Ontario in order to achieve Regeneron’s commercial goals for DUPIXENT.
Effectively coach and performance manage a high performing sales team to deliver sales goals through quality customer interactions.
Ensure effective implementation of marketing strategies within Canada.
To be compliant, and ensure all direct reports are conversant with the relevant Pharmaceutical Industry’s Code of Practice and all relevant internal standard operating procedures.
A role model for the national team championing Regeneron’s values and developing winning spirit within Canada.
Responsibilities
Performance Orientation and Leadership
- Provide direct reports with appropriate and relevant feedback, coaching and training interventions, development planning and talent management.
- Conduct on-boarding training for new staff in conjunction with Human Resources and Learning and Development training programs.
- Identify best practice and share these across the Sales Specialist team and other relevant functions.
- Align and embed Regeneron’s values, vision, and strategic direction always.
- Ensure high standards of recruitment of industry leading representatives.
- Manage the performance of the Sales Specialist Team within a designated area through appropriate leadership and coaching.
Strategic Planning and Effective Implementation
- Monitor regional budgets to demonstrate return on investment.
- Monitor/track key performance indicators to achieve revenue and contribution targets for the region and act to course correct when required.
- Responsibility for all direct reports attaining high levels of product, competitor therapy and environmental knowledge to maximize the commercial opportunities of the product.
- Ensure achievement of agreed advocacy development plans across the designated regions.
- Oversee the implementation of strategic marketing plans e.g. Multi-Channel marketing.
- Provide input into Regional and Local Account plans, ensuring plans are operationalized with clear tactical plans assigned to each team member.
- Ensure sales targets and profits are met through effective management and deployment of resources.
- Provide the appropriate business functions with performance overviews (Business and Personnel).
Key Working Relationships
- Local Key Opinion Leaders.
- Close working relationship with other Regional Sales Managers.
- Close cross-functional working within Regeneron.
- Close alliance working with brand, medical and field partners.
Requirements
- Proven ability to spot opportunities and develop into business solutions
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Previous 1st line management experience is an asset
- Excellent networking and influencing skills, and high personal credibility
- Understanding of financial tools, and processes required to execute brand plans
- Demonstrable account management experience with proven commercial sales success within the pharmaceutical industry
- People management and coaching capability
- English speaking
- Computer literate with competence in working with data/multiple systems/CRM
- Good level of Commercial Acumen
- Frequent travel will be requirement of the role
- Educated to degree or equivalent, preferably in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology
- Qualified in the relevant Pharmaceutical Industry’s Code of Practice
- Excellent planning and prioritization skills
- Ability to understand the Canadian Health Economy and adapt to changing business needs
Desirable:
- Previous experience working in an alliance relationship
- Up to date clinical knowledge of therapy areas and competitor brands
- Established Key Opinion leader relationships within Respiratory
- Therapy area knowledge (Respiratory) and sales experience in biologics
- Previous success embedding a high-performance culture
