Job Title: Director of National Retail Sales
Reporting to: Managing Director
Position Overview
This position works alongside the Senior Leadership Team to direct all sales activities, deliver sales targets and the performance of our Retail front line sales team consisting of Regional Managers, District Managers and Retail Store Sales Managers.
Reporting directly into the Managing Director of Match Retail, the Director of National Sales will lead strategy and identify resources necessary to provide a best in class sales culture and best in class customer experience.
The Director of National Sales builds and cultivates solid relationships across the organization, at all levels, externally with vendor partners to successfully drive and deliver on our business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manage retail client relationship across all levels of support and leadership
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts
- Lead Quarterly performance review for sales and people
- Recruit, coach train, and mentor field sales leadership
- Deliver store level compliance with team and cross functionally
- National travel to support retail stores
- Direct across the store support team leaders and managers to ensure success
- Lead nationwide sales team members to achieve sales targets
- Develop a comprehensive sales strategy and execute in timely and cost efficient manner
- Develop and manage annual account compensation plans to drive delivery on sales target
- Build a customer and team member first culture
- Collaborate with Director of Marketing to align and optimize Sales and Marketing budgets
Professional Skills & Competency Requirements
- University degree in a related field.
- Strategic/Enterprise Mindset: Thinks critically, anticipates long term challenges and trends; understands implications of decisions; translates ideas and concepts into practical applications
- Entrepreneurial mindset: Generates new ideas that add value, nurtures fresh approaches to problems with curiosity and generates creative solutions
- Prior experience and proficiency in managing overall sales and P&L
- Minimum 15+ years’ experience in a Retail industry with strong business acumen.
- Master’s degree is a plus
- Minimum 10+ years of experience working in a leadership or management capacity.
- Strong Retail Operator: Supports all retail cross functional leaders and understands the codependences of each department
- Travel to different store locations, client meetings and to other Match offices will be required
- Strong Presenter: Demonstrated dynamic presentation skills with team and clients, exuding a high-level confidence
- Decision Making/Problem Solving: Seeks out and considers appropriate data, intuition, ideas and experience to make decisions and solve problems; effectively and efficiently integrates information from diverse sources
