It Lead – Coo- Canada

This is an outstanding job for someone with excellent financial services experience ideally including investment management organisations and who has experience in a Technology Programme/Project Lead capacity.

A bit about the job:

This role is responsible for ensuring the effective technology service delivery for Aviva Investors North America which directly support the strategic goals of Aviva Investors COO and CEO. The key themes within the COO’s strategic roadmap include Growth, Customer Outcomes, Simplification, Regulation & Risk. The role also includes the delivery of other projects that the Technology function is asked to deliver on behalf of business sponsors within the region.

Your main objectives within this role are:

• To identify process improvement opportunities wherever possible
• To actively identify risk within projects and use effective risk management and reduction techniques
• Oversight and relationship with key outsource service providers in North America
• Lead IT programmes and project in the region with support from the Technical Project Management team
• Act as key escalation point for IT issues and change in North America
• To produce and deliver communication materials that are appropriate for the level and needs of all stakeholders
• To ensure the effective operation of the IT service in North America, while maintaining alignment with Aviva Investors’ global IT framework and processes.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Excellent Project Management skills, demonstrated through industry recognised accreditation, PMP, Prince2 or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of financial control principles as they apply to projects
• Adaptability to manage and deliver change in the context of an evolving and changing organisation, addressing the ambiguity, and conflicting demands that may result
• Experience of implementing programme/projects with elements of Transitional Service Arrangements, Target Operating Model implementations and Data Migrations.
• Excellent practical understanding of the ITIL Service Lifecycle.
