Business Analyst, IT & Operations


Status: Full-Time 12 month contract

Location: Toronto, ON

POSITION OVERVIEW


Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT & Operations, the Business Analyst, IT & Operations will work collaboratively across Cystic Fibrosis Canada (CF Canada) to maintain and improve critical business systems and processes. They will be responsible for evaluating business processes, anticipating and documenting requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and translating findings into technology-driven initiatives to support efficient operations. Additionally, they will be responsible for platform administration of both organizational resources and as well as organizational systems and databases.

To succeed in this role, you should have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult technical concepts to non-technical users. Additionally, you have a strong technical background in IT project management, software and hardware rollouts, various types of databases, document management systems and permissions and security groups to help ensure smooth onboarding and business continuity. You should also feel comfortable driving continuous process improvement initiatives to achieve business objectives.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Staying up to date on the latest process and IT databases and services used by Cystic Fibrosis Canada to automate and modernize systems.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
  • Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
  • Documenting and communicating the results of your efforts to various stakeholders.
  • Managing projects, developing project plans, and monitoring performance.
  • Leading ongoing reviews of department processes and developing optimization strategies.
  • Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements.
  • Effectively communicating your insights and plans to team members and management.
  • Supporting users' participation in deployments and implementation activities.
  • Working closely with multiple stakeholders to gather, analyze and define current business processes as well as requirements.
  • Performing requirements analysis of various department needs.
  • Providing leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to staff about new products/policies or procedures.
  • Updating, implementing, and maintaining procedures and databases.
  • Supporting the Sr. Manager, IT & Operations, and the Chief Financial Officer in delivering the project plan on time and on-budget.
  • Facilitating the gathering critical information from various stakeholders.



REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND OTHER ABILITIES


  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis or a related field.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Advanced technical skills.
  • A bachelor’s degree in IT, business, or a related field.
  • Excellent training and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • The ability to communicate with stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
