Job Description
The Facilities Assistant role is to secure value for DynaLIFEDx through effectively completing preventative maintenance and repair of laboratory facilities and equipment for the organization. Through excellence in customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills this individual makes a difference by ensuring organizational building facilities and equipment are maintained in a timely and cost effective manner.


Major Functions And Responsibilities


  • Ability to demonstrate discretion and confidentiality in all circumstances.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair of laboratory facilities, including plumbing and electrical, lighting, bench and furniture and doors and windows, handle compressed gasses.
  • Move and transfer laboratory equipment and furniture.
  • Pick up and dispose of waste material.
  • Monitor and record daily and weekly measurements and maintenance for deionized water and compressed gas systems.
  • Maintain the warehouse and facilities shop in an organized and neat manner.

  • Experience working in Facilities and Instrument repair is preferred.
  • Experience/Knowledge in any of the following areas would be considered an asset:


Minimum Qualifications


  • Must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory drivers abstract.
  • High School Diploma
  • Performs well independently & within a team assigned environment.
  • A building maintenance ticket or equivalent is desirable.

  • A security clearance will be required for employees newly hired to DynaLIFE.
  • Preference for this position will be given to bargaining unit members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the DynaLIFE/HSAA Collective Agreement
  • Travel to DynaLIFE locations as required.
  • Applicant(s) hired into this position will be required to provide a 5-year Driver’s Abstract as a condition of employment.
