Your opportunity: The Centre for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (CERES), based at the Munk School, is one of the leading academic centres for the study of countries belonging to the European Union, former Soviet Union and Central and Eastern Europe. CERES promotes interdisciplinary scholarship by bringing together the social sciences and humanities through the knowledge and experience of more than 15 departments and their faculty members. We organize and host a variety of regionally focused seminars, and are home to the Centre for the Study of France and the Francophone World, the Petro Jacyk Program for the Study of Ukraine and the Joint Initiative in German and European Studies. CERES supports an undergraduate European affairs program, offers a Master’s program in European, Russian and Eurasian studies and maintains a strong relationship with institutions in Europe, Ukraine and Eurasia to uphold the exchange of ideas and scholars. Under the general direction of the Director of the Centre for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies, the incumbent is responsible for a wide and dynamic range range of administrative duties associated with our undergraduate academic and extra-curricular programming. This is a 11 month term position that will end on June 21, 2024. Your responsibilities will include: Coordinating the schedule for program and event calendars Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming Maintaining course information on studentinformation systems Coordinating course timetables Liaising with students and faculty to coordinate program activities Counting post-event evaluation, analysis and recommendations for changes Providing detailed information on program and/or course eligibility requirements, procedures, policies and deadlines Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Communication or Events Management or acceptable combination of equivalent experience. Minimum three years recent and related experience in coordinating undergraduate administrative processes and events, and working knowledge, understanding and exprience of registration, enrolment, programs, and courses in a post-secondary school environment Experience in planning, coordinating and adminiatering events, including coordinating event schedules, booking speakers, making travel and hotel arrangements, arranging catering, coordinating space and preparing experince reimbursement in a post second academic environment Experience working with databases, updating records and providing reports. Demonstrated experience with preparing and editing content for communication, promotion and event material. Demonstrated solid experience in coordinating and planning small to major events. Experience overseeing the daily administration of an office, including coordinating and scheduling appointments, meetings, and calendars and taking minutes. Experience organizing hybrid events is a must Experience with providing detailed explanations on programs of study and other related information. Experience with coordinating Undergraduate administrative processes, and working knowledge and understanding of registration, enrolment, programs, and courses in a post-secondary school environment. Advanced skills working in the ROSI system or other related student databases. Advanced skills in Microsoft office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and email applications; HTML skills and/or other web editing tools for updating websites. Advanced skills using social medial tools. Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving and time management skills. Proficiency skills with using of design software (e.g. Canva, Dreamweaver, Drupal, Photoshop and Publisher).
