Chartered Professionals in Human Resources of British Columbia and Yukon (CPHR BC & Yukon) propels the HR profession forward by supporting its members with education and advocacy. We are the Voice of the HR Profession and the sole grantor of the CPHRTM designation in BC and the Yukon. Our team consists of professionals who are focused on providing excellent customer service to our members and partners in a fun, supportive and collaborative workplace environment. We are looking for a Corporate Partnership and Sponsorship Specialist. This is a full-time salaried hybrid position.
Job Summary
The Corporate Partnership and Sponsorship Specialist is primarily responsible for executing and overseeing all sales objectives and strategies for CPHR BC & Yukon. From selling email blasts and online advertising to engaging sponsors and exhibitors for member events, they will be responsible for all aspects of sales, partner management and ongoing communications.
Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the ideal candidate will promote CPHR BC & Yukon, be committed to excellent customer service and must have a balance of sales ability and business insight to maintain and generate relationships with sponsors, vendors, advertisers through prospecting and qualifying leads.
Key Responsibilities
Advertising Sales
- Grow advertising revenue through repeat business and the development of new client relationships
- Maintain and manage client communications, an advertising pipeline, tracking reports, client contracts, follow-up surveys and other documents related to advertising
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify key content and potential partners
Sponsorship Sales
- Maintain and enhance sponsorship revenues for association events including, but not limited to, the annual HR Conference
- Manage all aspects of sponsor/exhibitor sales and communication leading up to the annual HR conference
- Maintain sponsorship pipeline, tracking reports, client contracts, surveys, post-event reports and other documents related to sponsorship/partnership
- Working with the Conference Team, manage all sponsor activations and the HR tradeshow onsite to ensure the event is a positive experience for all sponsors/exhibitors.
General
- General Support for office and event operations as required and other duties as assigned
- Conduct regular research and prospecting to identify prospective new clients and new target markets
- Negotiate, write and edit sales contracts
- Develop and maintain good relationships with sponsors, clients and partners
- Collaborate with internal teams to schedule sponsorships and advertising, to develop sales proposals and to identify new potential areas for advertising/sponsorship
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong interpersonal, negotiating, networking and influencing skills
- Ability to create data and reports as a means of evaluating project performance and refining offerings and processes
- Proven ability to build long-term sales relationships and effectively communicate with clients over many years
- 3+ years of experience in the sale of advertising and/or event marketing opportunities, with demonstrable experience in B2B sales
- Must have strong written / verbal / interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office products and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, internet, and proficient in social media platforms.
- Salary Structure: Base pay ($55,000-$65,000) will be commensurate with experience, with supplemental commission structure (potential of additional $15,000-20,000 min).
