Senior Director of Philanthropy and Campaigns
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Senior Director of Philanthropy and Campaigns holds accountability for visioning, planning, executing, and establishing a strategic direction for the overall fundraising portfolio that is consistent with the agency’s short and long-term fundraising revenue growth plans, with a particular focus on major gifts and campaigns. The goals of the position are to develop and articulate strategies that take advantage of current and future fundraising opportunities and enable the organization to successfully meet its financial and sustainability goals to continue to grow programs to serve more youth.

What you will be doing:
- Strategizes, builds, provides oversight to, and executes on a dynamic fundraising program that includes donor stewardship, major giving, individual, annual, planned, corporate, and foundation giving, grants and events to meet annual revenue goals
- Oversees the development and administration of systems, tools, technologies, reporting, analysis and techniques to further develop the fund development plans
- Strategizes, develops, operationalizes, activates, and reports on the multi-year Comprehensive Campaign
- Liaises with Manager of Marketing & Communications to create an effective communications strategy to support the Campaign
- Provides fundraising coaching and leadership to the Honourary Advisory Board, Board of Directors, and Planned Giving Advisory Committee
- Develops annual giving campaign calendar and works with communications and marketing to create print, email and social media strategies that support development
- Establishes, maintains, and develops relationships with funders and other stakeholders
- Manages the legacy giving program including identification cultivation and solicitation of planned gifts
- Manages the Major Gifts program for gifts greater than $5000 – establishes fundraising targets, identifies potential donors, develops a donor pipeline, and ensures appropriate stewardship
- Oversees the annual and monthly giving programs, including development of end of year and other campaigns
- Oversees the Events portfolio, providing direction and support to Events Manager and Events Coordinator
- Oversees the development of strategies and initiatives to ensure efficient and effective business processes are in place for tracking and storing donor data in Raiser’s Edge
- Oversees the management and mentorship of all fundraising staff; conducts performance reviews to ensure performance goals are achieved
- Participates in general agency functioning and performs other duties as requested or required
What you bring:
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered
- Post-Secondary education in a relevant field (required); CFRE designation and/or training (preferred)
- Five (5) or more years of leadership/management experience, ideally in the not-for-profit sector
- Five (5) or more years of relevant, multi-disciplinary fundraising experience
- Advanced working knowledge of CRMs; experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred
- Experience in a social service organization preferred
- Ability to understand, communicate and support the mission, vision, and values of the agency
