Our Marketing & Communications Team:
Our talented Marketing & Communications team is made up of creative professionals with subject-matter expertise in disciplines including corporate communications, media relations, digital engagement, social media, graphic design and writing. They showcase and increase awareness of our critical cause and the incredible work we do, tell impactful stories and ensure arthritis is positioned as a top 5 health concern.
Purpose of Role:
Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing & Communications, and operating as a senior member of the nationwide Marketing & Communications team, the Director, Brand Marketing & Campaigns is responsible for elevating awareness of Arthritis Society Canada among our audiences. The Director will take leadership in a broad range of activities including media relations, stakeholder relations, storytelling, digital communications, advertising and event communications to expand the engagement of all Canadians in our organization and our cause.
Key Accountabilities:
- Identify, recommend and participate in the extension and leveraging and cross-promotion of all PR, media and social media opportunities throughout every effort.
- Analyze data and insights to inform marketing strategies and optimize campaigns in real-time, working with digital colleagues in a “data-first” approach and driving all efforts against pre-determined KPIs.
- Develop relationships and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners including mission, advocacy, research, revenue development, and associated internal and external stakeholders.
- Serve as a thought leader internally and externally, representing the company at events, conferences, and other speaking engagements.
- Continuously strive to improve the effectiveness of marketing programs and contribute to the overall growth and success of the organization.
- Develop and execute comprehensive and strategic and integrated marketing plans that achieve business objectives across multiple channels including paid, owned, and earned media.
- Manage budgets for all marketing initiatives, ensuring efficient use of resources to maximize ROI.
- Serve as the lead for all advertising campaigns; identify, negotiate, and implement advertising and content marketing partnerships in alignment with overarching plans.
- Oversee the development of creative assets, working with internal teams and agencies to ensure on-brand, high-quality deliverables.
- Leverage the organization's programs to proactively identify ways to maximize media and marketing opportunities in support of increased awareness, fundraising and donor pipeline growth.
- Oversee the organization's integrated content strategy -- organic social media, e-newsletter and video content plans including Executive/Leadership strategy.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Proven track record in recommending and building out digital campaign strategies.
- Strong understanding of brand strategy and positioning.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and writing skills. Bilingual (English & French) language skills an asset.
- Excellent analytical skills and experience using data to inform marketing decisions.
- 10+ years in marketing, with at least 3 years in leadership in a comparable role.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful integrated marketing campaigns incorporating earned, paid and owned media.
- Experience managing a team of brand marketing professionals.
- Experience building out omni-channel media plans.
- Experience with digital marketing tools and platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, media, public relations, communications, or a related discipline. MBA or other advanced degree.
- Strong media relations and issues management experience
