Job Description
Due to COVID-19 Guidelines, this role involves remote / work from home with a requirement for a minimum of 2 days per week working onsite and may be subject to change as the organization works through its hybrid workforce plan, and/or changing needs of the Foundation. We care about our team and community, and are closely monitoring the evolving situation. CAMH Foundation will continue to make the health and safety of our team a top priority.
About Camh Foundation
Hi! I’m Meghan Kelly, Director of Brand & Donor Engagement. I’ve spent the last 3 years with CAMH Foundation watching the company and the cause grow significantly. I am driven by working for a meaningful cause, with an exceptional team, and doing the job I love.
I believe the key to an excellent colleague at CAMH Foundation is not just the technical skills but the knowledge of the organization’s business, asking the right questions, listening to the answers and believing in the organization’s mission.
I invite you to join me for a conversation about your interest in CAMH, have the chance to meet members of our incredible team, and tell me more about how your career aspirations align with our bold journey to create a world where mental health is health.
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s largest mental health teaching hospital and one of the world’s leading research centres in its field. With a dedicated staff of more than 3,000 physicians, clinicians, researchers, educators and support staff, CAMH offers outstanding clinical care to more than 34,000 patients each year. The organization conducts ground-breaking research, provides expert training to health care professionals and scientists, develops innovative health promotion and prevention strategies, and advocates on public policy issues at all levels of government.
CAMH Foundation is charged with raising and stewarding funds in support of CAMH. Its role is to help transform the way we understand and address mental illness by raising awareness and increasing engagement across the country. Generous and dedicated supporters help CAMH advance discovery and innovation, build spaces that promote recovery, and break down the stigma of mental illness.
The Brand & Donor Engagement team is responsible for building a passionate community of supporters for CAMH and creating an outstanding end-to-end experience for CAMH Foundation’s donors and supporters. As members of the team, we are committed to a positive and safe work environment where we support, listen and learn from each other and be accountable to our many key stakeholders.
The Opportunity
The Brand Marketing Manager will be responsible for managing CAMH Foundation’s brand marketing efforts across owned, paid and earned media channels. The successful candidate will build brand awareness and engagement to drive community growth, donations, and donor retention.
We are looking for a hands-on brand marketer and collaborator who is passionate about mental health, comfortable navigating a complex organization with many stakeholders and understands the need to balance a bold approach to brand marketing with the thoughtfulness, consideration and consultation required when working with sensitive subject matter.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop the annual organization-wide brand marketing plan in consultation and collaboration with the Director, Brand & Donor Engagement
  • Collaborate with segment leads to ensure brand-level marketing is delivering on priorities across the organization and create focused marketing campaigns for defined priorities.
  • Manage the activation of brand communications across owned channels, with a focus on email marketing and social media.
  • Oversee brand marketing expense budget and revenue growth – updating budgets and projections based on assumptions and trends for revenue from existing donors.
  • Provide leadership to the Social Media Specialist to ensure that social media is being used to its fullest as a revenue generation, relationship building and engagement channel.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with key marketing vendors, including CAMH Foundation’s creative agency of record and media agency.
  • Work closely with Senior Manager, Marketing Insights & Operations to use performance analyses to evolve and influence plans based on key learnings and insights.
  • Responsible for planning and executing brand-level campaigns and activations to mobilize support (donations, sharing, community growth) with a focus on tactics that will drive donations.
What You’ll Bring To The Team
  • Thoughtful: you understand how to handle complex subject matter and are always keen to learn more about the mental health space from colleagues, peers and people with lived experience. You are able to digest and understand feedback and operate with the best interests of those experiencing mental illness as a priority.
  • 5+ years in a brand management, integrated marketing or similar role
  • Adaptable: you are comfortable adapting plans and direction when required based on insights, feedback, results or environmental factors. You are a strategic thinker who can see the big picture and then “zoom in” to execute with excellence.
  • Organized: Strong project management skills and ability to digest many communications priorities into a cohesive brand narrative and donor/supporter experience.
  • Collaborative: Experience managing agency relationships and working with cross-functional stakeholder groups. A true collaborator and relationship builder is best suited for this role.
  • Exceptional communication skills: you present information (written and orally) clearly and concisely across all levels within the organization. The ideal candidate has experience running complex cross-functional strategies and can influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Comfortable owning brand and revenue targets and managing $1M+ budgets.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of the mission and values of CAMHF.
  • Preference for candidate with proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro, CRM email tools, social media management experience.
Don’t sweat it if you don’t have everything listed above. We believe in growth and curiosity. If you have most or some of these skills and experiences and believe this is the position that will make you excited to come into work every day, then we want to hear from you!
Salary Range: $87,550-$100,940 annually
