Senior Philanthropy Officer, Corporate and Community Partnerships


The Down Syndrome Resource Foundation was formed in 1995 and has an established history with a strong reputation for excellence. The outcomes for individuals with Down syndrome can be maximized by providing opportunities for rich social connections with family and friends, participation in the community, optimal health care, as well as the opportunity to learn through instruction that is tailored to the profile of the learner. Position Summary


The Senior Philanthropy Officer, Corporate and Community Partnerships will be responsible for identifying, soliciting, securing, and maintaining relationships with sponsors, partners, and donors for DSRF core and third-party events. Under the direction of the Director of Development and in coordination with the fund development team, the Senior Philanthropy Officer, Corporate and Community Partnerships will participate in developing and executing long and short-range sponsorship and fundraising plans that will ensure the achievement of established objectives. They will participate in developing general and tailored proposals and presentations to be utilized in sponsor and partner solicitations.


Duties And Responsibilities


  • Develop proposals for corporate sponsor and community partner prospects.
  • Network and build relationships on behalf of DSRF.
  • Responsible for execution of sponsor and partner benefits prior to, during, and after events, including creating recap reports.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward sponsors for DSRF core events (Up the Down Market, Run Up for Down Syndrome, etc.).
  • Identify cultivate, solicit, and steward third-party fundraising opportunities.
  • Provide input into creating marketing materials for sponsorship solicitation and outreach.
  • Responsible for event sponsorship committees (including member recruitment and recognition).
  • Collaborate with the fund development team on the planning and execution of events.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Philanthropy and Director of Development on the identification and solicitation of major gifts.


Requirements


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Requires some early morning, evening, and travel.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and motivate people to make gifts in support of Foundation priorities.
  • Proven track record of closing corporate sponsorships.
  • Five years of recent major gift experience in fundraising.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication, including creation of written proposals or solicitation letters.
  • Evidence of working successfully with volunteers and committees.
  • High degree of initiative; strong time management skills; and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
COMPETENCIES


  • Proven success in writing sponsorship proposals
  • Proficient computer skills and working knowledge of database software such as Saleforce.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize workload.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the technique of prospect research with the ability to extract pertinent/critical information from various sources.
  • Demonstrated success at securing corporate sponsorship ($10,000 plus).

Benefits


Work format: Hybrid.


Salary range: $67,000 to $75,000.
