What You’ll Do
BCCHF is seeking an extraordinary philanthropy leader to join us on our quest to transform healthcare outcomes for children in BC. In this critical role, you will lead and develop the long-term strategy for the major gift fundraising team, which currently raises over $10M annually. You have extensive experience in securing major gifts at the $1M+ level and bring your high-performance standards to the organization on a daily basis.
Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Philanthropy, and a key member of the Foundation’s leadership team, you will be responsible for leading a team of four and cultivating relationships with donors and hospital leaders to deliver on fundraising priorities.
More specifically, you will:

• Create opportunities for meaningful, on-going, and loyal donor, volunteer, and stakeholder relationships.
• Bring solid prospect management practices and impeccable donor experience touchpoints to the team to support revenue growth.
• Develop a comprehensive plan to advance business objectives.
• Promote harmonious and productive working relationships as a member of BCCHF’s team; support other team members to meet their fundraising targets and goals.
• Be an active member of the Leadership Team, providing input and holding accountability for the successful implementation of the organization’s overall strategic plan.
• Collaboratively develop performance targets and measures for all areas of responsibility.
• Provide major gift support to the President & CEO, as well as other senior volunteer and Foundation leaders.
• Provide inspired leadership and strategy to the team, that will result in the realization of BCCHF’s goals to support child health.
• Develop strong relationships with BC Children’s Hospital physicians and employees to promote prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors.

This position is based in our office located in Vancouver, BC. As part of enabling the kind of culture and values that power the possible, we’re committed to creating a flexible workplace experience. We are currently piloting a fully hybrid work environment that allows individuals and teams to split their time between working remotely from home and in-office, with no defined minimum amount of time in-office. Requirements
What you bring
As our ideal candidate, you will have a diploma or degree and formal training in fundraising, marketing, or business administration. You possess ten years of significant fundraising experience, with a record of progressive accomplishment in developing, implementing, and managing successful fundraising initiatives, and leading high-performance teams. You have a proven track record of major gift success in a sophisticated and complex environment, preferably in healthcare. Having your CFRE is an asset.
You demonstrate knowledge of current and emerging trends in philanthropy and have a passion for healthcare with the ability to translate healthcare and research concepts to diverse audiences.
Additionally, you demonstrate the following:

• Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to respond to internal and external stakeholders with tact, discretion, and good judgement.
• The ability to lead, coach and motivate a team to do their best work.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and work calmly under pressure.

• Highly adept at problem solving, supported by strong analytical skills and a strategic, inquiring mind.
