Island Asphalt is seeking a dedicated Plant Foreman to join the team at a well-established asphalt manufacturing plant located in Victoria. The Plant Foreman will lead our stationary asphalt plant, overseeing its operation, maintenance, and production. This role requires in-depth knowledge of asphalt mix designs, plant operations, and team management. Salary and Benefits:

• Union role, $43.05 + pension

• Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional overtime during peak seasons.

Required Skills:

• Skilled in Loader operation and PC-based plant operation systems.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Electrical and welding experience for equipment repairs and maintenance.
• While a Red Seal certification is not mandatory, any relevant certifications related to asphalt plant operations and OH&S are highly desirable.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Experience in operating and maintaining Drum Mix and Batch Plant systems.
• Proficiency in asphalt mix designs and adjustments.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience maintaining asphalt plants.
• Familiarity with OH&S regulations and protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the daily operation of the asphalt plant, including firing up procedures, production oversight, and maintaining inventory levels.
• Manage inbound aggregate trucks and outbound product shipments.
• Foster a culture of safety and teamwork, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
• Collaborate with the Shift Supervisor to coordinate truck schedules and off-sales.
• Collaborate with HR and participate in the onboarding of new plant personnel.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including OH&S and WHMIS standards.
• Maintain a strong focus on quality control and asphalt mix adjustments.
• Perform maintenance tasks, repairs, and troubleshoot equipment issues, including scales, burners, and dryers.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to up-and-coming plant operators.
