Dawson Road Maintenance operates a diverse fleet of specialized equipment using the latest in technology, including GPS-tracking backed by real-time weather forecasts. From winter snow to avalanches, mud slides or washouts, we work hard to make sure our highways are open and safe for the travelling public.

In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Road Maintenance, working in a permanent, full-time position of Bridge Foreman, reporting to the Superintendent, Bridges. This position requires an experienced Bridge Foreman to safely manage all bridge crews, projects and inspections. Your base location will be Fort St. John, B.C. and may require some travel throughout our great province.

What Success Looks Like

• Arrange for the delivery of necessary materials, tools and equipment
• Assist in conducting detailed bridge inspections
• Manage bridge projects
• Maintain contact with Ministry of Transportation, the general public and external organization
• Must Prioritize safety of self and others in all aspects of the job
• Instruct crews on safety precautions and enforce safety regulations
• Supervise and participate in bridge maintenance and repair

What You Bring

• Journeyman Bridge Certificate
• Minimum three (3) years of bridge work experience
• Minimum two (2) years of road maintenance and/or construction experience
• Journeyman Carpenter will also be considered, willing to train as needed
• Valid Certificate of Qualification in the trade of Piledriver and Bridgeman issued by the Province of BC Ministry of Labour
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role
• Valid Class 1 or 3 Drivers license is required
