Responsibilities

• Coordinating with client and other 3rd parties including utilities, property owners and approving authorities.
• Developing PLS-CADD models and analysis for distribution lines using survey data provided.
• Detailed design of overhead distribution projects, voltages ranging from 14.4kV to 24.4kV which would include support structures replacements, and overhead crossings.
• Designing Wood, FRP and Steel Pole structures using PLS-Pole.
• Performing tasks allocated by Project Manager and Management.
• Traveling to project sites for the purpose of collecting on-site data and meeting with client representatives.
• Prepare detailed engineering calculations, bill of materials and design packages for distribution projects.

Requirements

• Preference will be given to candidates that have prior experience working on BC Hydro Distribution related projects.
• Experience designing OH Crossings (Rail, Water, Pipeline, Highways).
• Strong knowledge in the use of PLS-Cadd and PLS-Pole or equivalent software such as Spida-calc or Quickpole.
• Graduate of an accredited Engineering or Engineering Technology post secondary school.
• Prior engineering and design experience in either a utility transmission or distribution environment.
