Manage electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical needs for custom-designed hydroponic systems.

High-level oral and written communication skills are required for report writing and design justification documentation.

Work with the ZipGrow team to design and develop new hydroponic solutions.

Provide technical support to the ZipGrow team and clients.

Prototype designs and design concepts and iterate based on findings.

Work near moving mechanical parts for 3/4 of the day and up.

Toxic or caustic chemicals for up to 1/4 of the day.

Review scale drawings to ensure the proposed designs satisfy the clients' expectations and comply with manufacturing capabilities.

Knowledge of statistical analysis software and computer-assisted design, manufacturing and machining.

Occasional travel and coordination with site operation Preferred Qualifications:

Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Performing tasks allocated by Project Manager and Management.

Prior engineering and design experience in either a utility transmission or distribution environment.

Strong knowledge in the use of PLS-Cadd and PLS-Pole or equivalent software such as Spida-calc or Quickpole.

Experience designing OH Crossings (Rail, Water, Pipeline, Highways).

Preference will be given to candidates that have prior experience working on BC Hydro Distribution related projects.

Detailed design of overhead distribution projects, voltages ranging from 14.4kV to 24.4kV which would include support structures replacements, and overhead crossings.

Support project management activities (e.g., front-end planning, cost estimating, quality monitoring).

Prepare plans, standards and technical procedures for inspection, maintenance and asset-life management programs.

2 years Mechanical Engineering experience in hydro-electric generation, else transferable experience in an industrial setting

Exposure or knowledge of working in an electricity generating facility (hydropower), is considered an asset.

Experience using AutoCAD is an asset.

Field Engineer experience is an asset.

Provide input to business plans, work plans, budgets with respect to project priorities, schedules and resource requirements.

Experience working in a Generating Facility, industrial power system or utilities organization is preferred;

Experience conducting assessments, testing, studies, inspections, investigations, designing, evaluating, construction monitoring & maintenance of electrical works associated with generating stations;

Reporting preparation, and strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with people;

Experience using AutoCAD is preferred;

Work with operations department to manage repair schedule and delivery times

Post-secondary education in Engineering discipline, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Assist Plant Manager in the compilation and preparation of annual budget.

5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or related role.

Standardize a troubleshooting approach using root cause analysis and train plant personnel.
