We are looking for a very organized, detail-oriented problem solver with a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills to join our engineering team. This individual will help the team define and design next-generation products through vendor and component expertise. You will be part of a passionate and dynamic team that is developing new technology from the ground up.
Key Roles
- Creation of technical drawings and documentation.
- Work with the ZipGrow team to design and develop new hydroponic solutions.
- Manage electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical needs for custom-designed hydroponic systems.
- Provide technical support to the ZipGrow team and clients.
- Prototype designs and design concepts and iterate based on findings.
- Respond to and develop solutions to best suit individual client needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skill Requirements
- Is enthusiastic and ready to learn; engaged as a contributing member of the development and larger ZipGrow team.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Applications and CAD software, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks or SketchUp.
- Outstanding analytical and creative problem-solving mindset, with a strong drive to harmonize various functions into a product.
- High-level oral and written communication skills are required for report writing and design justification documentation.
- Is able to work in a fast-paced and independent environment.
- A basic understanding of industrial robots and programming is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent education with relevant experience.
- Background in agriculture or growing an asset.
