Junior Robotics Engineer Jobs

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeing an eager, driven, and hands-on Junior RoboticsEngineer for our client – a Vancouver-basedrobotics and AI company. As the leader in the commercialization and design of cobots (collaborative robot) and AI systems for robotic welding applications, they’ve already won multiple awards and are known throughout the industry for their innovation, creativity, and determined team.

The Junior RoboticsEngineer will report to the Director of Electrical Engineering and have the enviable opportunity to play a hands-on role in the design on innovative welding robots from scratch starting with conception, to fabrication, to final integration. The ideal candidate will possess a driven, go-getter personality, a willingness to be hands-on, and a keen interest in the world of robotics.

The successful candidate must be able to attend an interview in person and will work out of their Vancouver area office.

Responsibilities

•Design and develop electrical systems involving three-phase power, transformers, PLCs, servo motors, cameras and lasers

•Prepare electrical schematics, manufacturing drawings and assembly instructions for electrical sub-assemblies and wiring harnesses

•Support production during final assembly and testing where necessary

•Perform basic wiring/assembly for electrical prototypes and R&D projects where necessary

•Ensure the product conforms to applicable CEC/CSA, UL and EU standards

•Travel as required to customer and supplier sites to perform installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and training duties

•Work with customers, project managers, designers, toolmakers and electricians to solve problems in order to provide the customer with a complete, functional automation system

•Advise customer on solving technical problems

•Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures

Requirements

•Degree in Electrical, Mechatronic, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent)

•1+ years of experience, new grads will also be considered with co-op and/or internship experience

•Excellent communication skills

•Ability and willingness to be hands-on and work in a dynamic environment

•Previous experience with robotics is an asset
