Job description

As a Robotics Software Engineer at Apera AI, you'll occupy a pivotal role in transforming our vision into real-world robotic applications. Collaborating with a dynamic team of engineers and applied scientists, your focus will be integrating Apera AI’s machine vision technology with robots to enable industrial automation. Your job responsibilities will include:


  • Innovation in Robotic Perception: Stay up to date with the latest advancements in robotics, including pose estimation, motion planning, and grasp planning. Incorporate cutting-edge techniques into our integration pipeline.
  • Robotics Vision Integration: Lead the development of our robotics integration software, bridging the gap between our Apera Vue vision system and diverse robot controllers. Develop and optimize communication protocols to ensure seamless integration.
  • Custom Driver Implementation: Craft tailored driver code for major industrial robot manufacturers. Validate and fine-tune these drivers in our lab environment, working side by side with real robots.
  • Automation and Performance: Design and implement automation solutions for that push the limits of Apera Vue’s vision cycle time. Implement benchmarks to assess accuracy and performance.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate integrations, provide clear demonstrations, and create reference designs for robot programs. Your expertise will be pivotal in showcasing the capabilities of our vision-driven robotics.


Basic qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with robotic platforms, controllers, and lab environments is a strong plus.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, C++, or similar.
  • In-depth understanding of robotic systems, computer vision, and machine learning.
  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • A knack for problem-solving, especially within the context of robotics integration.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
