Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Designer with a BCIT Electrical and Computer Technology Diploma to join our team. The Junior Designer will work alongside experienced engineers and designers to provide design and drafting support for various electrical and instrumentation projects. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in electrical and instrumentation design principles, a willingness to learn and grow, and excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities:

• Create and modify electrical, instrumentation, and controls design drawings using AutoCAD to comply to client standards, and meet quality requirements.
• Attend project meetings and site visits as required
• Collaborate with engineers and other designers to ensure design accuracy and functionality
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Assist with the preparation of detailed design drawings, specifications, and documentation for electrical and instrumentation projects
• Assist with the preparation of project estimates and schedules

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with electrical and instrumentation codes and standards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of project management principles and practices is an asset
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software
• Completion of a BCIT Diploma Program Electrical and Computer Technology Diploma
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Proficiency in Excel and coding and writing scripts is an asset
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work
