Creative Designer

• 2+ years experience in SolidWorks and AutoCAD a MUST

Raise Workforce is working alongside a reputable Manufacturer that is a leading provider of in-store marketing services for the world’s leading retailers and brand manufacturers. If you have ever seen a display case, makeup stand, or shelving unit in your favorite stores, it's most likely that it was manufactured right here in our own GTA backyard.

As the new Creative Designer, you will be responsible for understanding customers need’s and translating them into innovative retail display solutions. You are a transformational artist turning concept into reality. You will be working directly with the clients and retailers to better understand the brand and consumer behavior as related to the requested design.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Identifying appropriate and cost-effective materials and processes
• Follow all policies and procedures defined in the company quality system.
• Working directly with the Project Team at collaborative huddles to establish ways in which to innovate by considering Design for Sustainability, Design for Value, Design for Manufacturing and Design for Retail principles.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Creating design proposals that are innovative, on brand, functional, sustainable, cost-effective, and manufacturable.
• Performing any other reasonable assignments given by Department Management or his/her designates.
• Ensuring format of deliverables and quality of presentations are in line with the Company standards.
• Training others as directed.
• Performing daily routine housekeeping of work area.
• Participating in Team Huddles, Daily Stand Up meetings or any other BU / Chapter meetings.
• Developing solutions that are manufacturable and on brand
• Reporting any Health and Safety issues to the supervisor immediately.
• Presenting design proposals (Design Presentations | Planogram Presentations) and working with client towards next step solutions.
• Staying abreast of industry, market and material trends through publications, tradeshows, seminars, or conferences.
• Working with subject matter experts, Sales and Business Unit team members to evaluate the feasibility of concepts by considering practicality, aesthetics, budget, production cost/methods, and brand characteristics.
• Producing Design Presentations and Planogram Presentations
• Conducting all work duties as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations, the health, safety & environmental policies, procedures, and policies of the company
• Consulting with Chapter and BU team members to establish and evaluate assignment requests and deliverables at initial briefing.
• Creating design presentations using a variety of techniques that include sketching, technical illustrations, photoshop, 3d SolidWorks Modeling and digital renderings.

Qualifications

• Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Able to read and interpret documents such as design briefs, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
• Good Judgment and problem solving skills using logic and reasoning to identify alternate solutions
• Hold a College or University degree/diploma in Industrial Design (or similar field) with at least 2 years (or more for CD and Sr. CD roles) POP/Retail Design (or related) experience; or a combination of education and experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Capable of preparing drawings, illustrations, renderings, presentations or rough sketches
• Knowledge and experience in 3D Solidworks and 2D AutoCAD is a MUST
• Sound knowledge of Design Software, Internet Software, Word Processing Software, Presentation Software, Spreadsheet Software, and Database Software.
• Good Time Management, Decision Making, Team worker, Customer Service, Innovation, Business Acumen Skills
