Designer 2 - Brand Creative - Temporary

Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

You will be a creative leader for graphic design in the development of omni-channel experiences within the brand design team. This includes conceptualizing, ideation, and production of graphic and visual materials for print, digital, and physical media that effectively communicates the brand to our guests.

This role is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Please note this is a temporary role ending January 26, 2024.

You work as part of the Brand Marketing Creative team; hands-on and iterative, we build our creative with the same passion embodied in our product. Art Directors, Designers, Photographers, Stylists, Architects, and Craftspeople create a wide spectrum of skills to be deployed. We are comfortable behind the pen, on an exposed ridgeline, and in any global city.

If you were the Designer 2 – Brand Creative now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

• Leading the work of production contractors and ensuring the consistency of brand standards/seasonal creative of one or more people as required
• Functioning as a creative leader for graphic design within assigned workgroup
• Providing feedback and directing the work of production designers to ensure the consistency of brand standards/seasonal creative as required
• Preparing sketches, layouts, presentations, and graphic elements of the subjects to be rendered using traditional tools, multimedia software and image processing, layout and design software
• Presenting concepts and creative to stakeholders for project approval
• Mentoring Junior Graphic Designers, and interns providing support and coaching
• Executing full scope of design work from concept to output
• Understanding and adhering to corporate art direction and brand standards
• Determining which medium is best for producing desired visual effects and the most appropriate vehicle for communication
• Using existing photo and illustration banks and typography guides to produce images that meet communication needs
• Conceiving, ideating, and producing world class communications in print, web, and at retail using Adobe Creative Suite

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

• Researching best-in-class graphic design and DTC experiences, market trends, and emerging technologies in graphic design, packaging, and illustration
• Establishing guidelines for production contractors to maintain a high level of brand excellence

• Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it
• You have 5+ years’ of experience in a design role
• You have an expert knowledge of the following: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, MS Powerpoint, Apple Keynote, and Google Slides.
• You are able to work in a multi-faceted, fast-paced environment
• You have a University Degree or other postsecondary education related to Design and/or fine arts
• You drive breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement with each project
• You set a clear vision for design projects and rally those around you
• You seek and execute the best (but sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
