About The Opportunity
We are growing and currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Concrete Foreman to join our NuFrame Concrete team in the Lower Mainland, BC on a full-time basis. Our job sites are located all throughout the Lower Mainland, including cities such as Surrey, North Vancouver, Pitt Meadows, and Maple Ridge.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Leading teams of employees as well as subcontractors
Contributing to the building of project schedules
Reporting on labour, schedule, and budget
Managing site sequencing and production and crane workflows
Reading and comprehending structural and architectural drawings
Reading plans outside of the area of expertise, such as shoring, mechanical, electrical, security, etc
Manually laying out formwork in the absence of a layout man.
Working with various methods of hand forming (single whaler, double whaler, blind forming, etc) and slab forming (scaffold, 4by6, Peri Skydeck or equivalent, fly tables, etc)
Working with shotcrete contractors for structural wall placing
Managing material requirements and scheduling deliveries
Managing and limiting material usage and waste
Organizing site materials, maintaining inventories, instructing workers, and creating day plans
Attending meetings, inspecting completed and ongoing work, and teaching and enforcing safety standards
Updating progress reports, monitoring budgets, and communicating with other trades and supervisors
Assisting physically with projects as required
About You
In order to qualify for the Senior Concrete Foreman position, you will need a minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry with concrete formwork, and experience as a foreman for a minimum of 5 projects or 5+ years. In addition, both roles require previous framing experience and a Valid Driver’s License.
The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
Work ethic, reliability, integrity, taking ownership/responsibility for projects
Strong leadership skills, capable of leading teams of 25 or more people
You have held the position of foreman on projects with 2 or more cranes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide clear instructions.
Effective collaborator with the ability to work independently and strong organizational skills
Thorough knowledge of structural concrete processes and assemblies
Comprehensive understanding of concrete forming tools and proficiency with smartphones and computers
Familiarity with forklifts, and aerial lifts
Experience contributing to project schedule development with a track record of consistently meeting project schedules
Proficiency in labour, schedule, and budget reporting
Competence in site sequencing and production management
Ability to fully comprehend structural and architectural drawings
Proficiency in reading plans outside the area of expertise (e.g., shoring, mechanical, electrical, security)
Strong troubleshooting, diagnosing and problem-solving skills for site conditions
