Job Location: Victoria, BC, Canada

We are looking for an experienced Foreman to join our passionate team based on the relaxed and beautiful Vancouver Island, based out of Victoria, B.C.

You would have Red-Seal accreditation with a minimum of 5 years experience. Your job will entail all aspects of construction from site prep through to the finished product.

We Want Someone With The Following Characteristics

• A comprehensive understanding of both concrete and wood frame construction
• Practical understanding of sub-trades scope of work
• Leadership skills that create a team work environment, oversee carpenters to do their job happily and accurately, whether it be helping with cleaning, ensuring correct tools are available and in good working condition, providing all materials without unnecessary delay
• Attention to detail
• Have a diverse understanding in Structural and Building Envelope design
• Can build a house - start to finish
• Able to build relationships with the project manager and subbies and are able to manage on site questions that you are 100% confident in.

Requirements

• Proficient in using carpenter tools and manual equipment (powered saw, hammers, rulers, lasers, levels etc.)
• Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
• Good knowledge of English
• Good understanding of basic math
• Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
• Red Seal Certification. Equivalent experience will be considered on a case by case basis
• Enjoy dry humor and a good bit of banter, awards are given annually.
