Director, Policy and Projects
$86,200.00 - $122,100.01 annually
The Professional Regulation and Oversight Branch is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for regulating and overseeing health professionals working in British Columbia so patients and their families can be confident they are receiving high-quality, safe care at all times.
The Director, Policy and Projects manages the development, implementation and evaluation of major projects related to professional regulation and/or the professional regulation component of large multi-faceted projects with multiple key deliverables. Projects often have delivery components that impact labour, legislation and corporate functions across government (e.g., governance, operations, finance, service delivery, human resources). These projects are taken from original concept through to final completion.

Qualifications for this role include:
- Relevant University Degree e.g. business administration, public administration, law, or another related field, and progressive, recent and related experience. Preference may be given to candidates with a Master’s level degree.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Progressive and recent related experience includes:
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in policy development.
- Managing relationships with senior level stakeholders and leading consultation sessions. Preference may be given to candidates with 2 or more years of experience.
- Managing multiple projects or leading a component (e.g., sub-project) of a major project. Preference may be given to candidates with 2 or more years of experience.
- Supervising, developing and empowering staff, and building and guiding multi-disciplinary teams. Preference may be given to candidates with 2 or more years of experience.
