Support Philanthropy Officer in building a portfolio of national foundations and ensuring that all grants' objectives and requirements are met

Develop, implement, and manage processes and activities, adhering to best practices

Minimum 8 years of progressive fundraising experience with a proven track record of achievement and success in annual giving

Establish department goals and targets in partnership with the Chief Development and Partnership Officer

Prepare annual budget and closely monitor revenue and expense targets for portfolio

Ensure the donor management system is fully utilized to effectively enter, track, and manage estate and gift planning information.

Demonstrated leadership in equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), lived experience, or knowledge and awareness of EDI.

Consistently deliver on exceptional donor experiences inspiring philanthropy and engagement.

Manage administration of organization’s estate and gift planning portfolio from initial notification to completion.

Donor and Gift Data Management

·One to two years' experience in the non-profit sector is preferred but not essential.

·Analytical and problem-solving skills and proven ability to research and summarize information.

An understanding of moves management, pipeline development, solicitation strategies, donorrelations, and stewardship is required.

Lead and manage ADF’s signature fundraising and donor recognition events in collaboration with development team.

Maintain a high level of knowledge on sector and best practices within the industry to ensure.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, collaborative, and organizational skills • Committed to supporting and enhancing organizational culture and values.

Solicit major gifts in one-on-one meetings (in person, virtual, or phone calls) with donors. •

Collaborate with various stakeholders to identify project funding needs and develop strategies to achieve strategic goals and targets.

Manage relationships with Major Donors

Track all communication with Corporate Account Managers to ensure excellent donor service

Manage and monitor progress and results for all assigned donors

Proven experience in major individual gift fundraising, and in cultivating and soliciting prospects capable of five and six-figure gifts

Knowledge of tax laws that impact charitable giving, personal assets and estates

Demonstrated leadership and ability to successfully manage multi-functional or diverse client accounts

Five (5) or more years of leadership/management experience, ideally in the not-for-profit sector

Human Resources & Relationship Management

Oversees the management and mentorship of all fundraising staff; conducts performance reviews to ensure performance goals are achieved

Advanced working knowledge of CRMs; experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered

Liaises with Manager of Marketing & Communications to create an effective communications strategy to support the Campaign

Develop tailored proposals and write grant applications to apply for funding to support the programs and services offered at CHV

5-7 years of experience with fundraising and donor relations

Donor database experience, preferably in Raisers Edge

Skilled at strategic one-to-one major gift work with donors, navigating complex scenarios that require self-directed decision-making

Skilled at communicating Covenant House Vancouver’s mission, interests, and impact and making compelling cases for support in written and verbal formats.

·Proven experience in the growth and management of a portfolio of donors.

·Knowledge and experience in annual or mid-level giving and supporting major gifts and planned giving prospect identification.

·In collaboration with the Manager, Donor Relations, ensure ongoing donor loyalty through meaningful stewardship and recognition.

·Collaborate with the Manager, Legacy Giving to develop and execute lead generation strategies.

·Exceptionally personable with proven skills at building and developing relationships and donor expectations.

·Excellent communication skills (oral and written).

Previous experience in healthcare philanthropy, or related areas would be an asset, as would previous management or team-lead experience.

Demonstrated ability to effectively work within a senior management team to successfully multi-task and manage complex and diverse projects.

Facility with donor management systems, in particular Raiser’s Edge.

Project manage in collaboration with the marketing team gift announcements in the $1Million - $4,999,999 range.

Manage 1 team member; Coordinator, philanthropy

Previous successful campaign and hospital experience would be an asset.
