Term Length: 13 months Full Time Contract Opportunity until November 2024
Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

What will I be doing?
- Develop integrated communications material to enhance Metrolinx's corporate goals and reputation
- Ensure awareness of the corporation and its services
- Provide communications expertise to all levels of staff, including the Ministry of Transportation, senior management and the Metrolinx Board of Directors
- Develop and coordinate special events that enhance community, staff, and media relations
- Develop, write, and produce print and online material, such as our newsletters, backgrounders, media releases and advisories, corporate reports and publications, and website content including intranet, public web properties and corporate blog
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
- Minimum three (3) years' experience in creative writing and editing for corporate communications, coordinating and implementing several special events, and developing all communication strategies
- Familiarity with the principles of media relations, marketing, and processes of public relations
- Knowledge of communication techniques, desktop publishing, word-processing, presentation, web-authoring, social media, blog and e-newsletter applications
- Comprehensive background in producing publications and other print and online material from concept to completion
- Research, planning and project management skills
- Experience in analyzing data and web design would be considered an asset
- Interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of staff, the public, and other partners
- Completion of a four-year post-secondary program in communications or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
