Job Description
The Canadian Press is looking for a talented and motivated QA Engineer to join our Toronto team. As a QA Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring that the software products we create meet the highest standards of quality. Your responsibilities will include testing web applications, creating effective test cases, and working closely with our Software Development and Product teams.


Responsibilities


  • Identifying quality issues and creating test reports using appropriate bug tracking tools
  • Evaluating user stories, use cases, and requirements for validity and feasibility
  • Creating and improving testing-related documentation, including test plans, test cases, and automation test scripts
  • Collaborating closely with software developers and product teams to gather all the data required for efficient QA Functional Test Plans and automation scripts
  • Designing and executing effective test cases, leveraging both manual and automated testing approaches
  • Designing and implementing tools for automating our quality assurance procedures and developing QA testing processes for new and existing products to meet the specific needs of our clients


Skills And Experience Required


  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to organize tasks efficiently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in AWS, GCP or Azure
  • Working knowledge and understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, scripting languages like Python, and web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Good understanding of software testing processes and methodologies, tools, and best practices
  • Experience with AODA and developing AODA test plan
  • Experience in testing APIs and responsive web applications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a QA Engineer or similar role, preferably in the media industry

La Presse Canadienne est à la recherche d'un(e) ingénieur(e) en assurance de qualité talentueux(se) et motivé(e) pour se joindre à notre équipe de Toronto. En tant qu'ingénieur(e) AQ, vous jouerez un rôle essentiel en veillant à ce que les produits logiciels que nous créons répondent aux normes de qualité les plus élevées. Vos responsabilités comprendront la mise à l'essai d'applications web, la création de cas d'essai efficaces et la collaboration étroite avec nos équipes de développement de logiciels et de produits.


Responsabilités


  • Concevoir et exécuter des cas de test efficaces, en s'appuyant sur des approches de test manuelles et automatisées
  • Évaluer la validité et la faisabilité des expériences d'utilisateurs, des cas d'utilisation et des exigences
  • Concevoir et mettre en œuvre des outils permettant d'automatiser nos procédures d'assurance qualité et développer des processus de test d'assurance de qualité pour les produits nouveaux et existants afin de répondre aux besoins spécifiques de nos clients
  • Identifier les problèmes de qualité et créer des rapports de test à l'aide d'outils de suivi des bogues appropriés
  • Collaborer étroitement avec les développeurs de logiciels et les équipes de produits afin de rassembler toutes les données nécessaires à l'élaboration de plans de tests fonctionnels d'assurance qualité et de scripts d'automatisation efficaces
  • Créer et améliorer la documentation relative aux tests, y compris les plans de test, les cas de test et les scripts de test d'automatisation


Compétences et expérience nécessaires


  • Expérience de l'AODA et de l'élaboration d'un plan de test AODA
  • Un grand souci du détail et la capacité d'organiser efficacement les tâches
  • Au moins deux ans d’expérience comme ingénieur(e) en assurance de qualité ou dans une fonction similaire, de préférence dans le secteur des médias.
  • Connaissance et compréhension des bases de données SQL et NoSQL, des langages de script tels que Python et des technologies web telles que HTML, CSS et JavaScript
  • Expérience en matière de tests d'API et d'applications web réactives
  • Baccalauréat en informatique ou dans un domaine connexe, ou expérience professionnelle équivalente
  • Expérience de travail avec AWS, GCP ou Azure
  • Bonne compréhension des processus et méthodologies de test de logiciels, des outils et des meilleures pratiques
