About Us: The C.O.D.E. Initiative is a registered non-profit organization with a mission to provide affordable, inclusive, and tailored Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (S.T.E.A.M.) and digital literacy opportunities to students from underrepresented communities. Our clients are families and students from underrepresented communities in science and technology (e.g., newcomers to Canada, neurodivergent-identifying students, and self-identifying girls), while our volunteer tutors are mainly post-secondary and university students across Canada.
Job Title: Business Administration Coordinator
Availability: FLEXIBLE. Part-time (30 hours per week) to Full-time (40 hours a week)
Location: Mostly remote, with very few in-person days as needed.
Compensation: $22.50/hour
: The Business Administration Coordinator will provide general administration services to the CODE Initiative and perform other tasks related to managing volunteers and the delivery of programs and workshops.
Responsibilities include:
- Billing for funding units (such as autism funding and school funding)
- Recording payroll and ensuring time log accuracy
- Supervising and liaising with volunteer tutors
- Managing bursary programs for students eligible, their enrolment, support, and reporting
- Maintaining logistical details for client support (end-of-session notes, sending certificates, follow-up emails to previous clients)
- Establishing internal administration controls and procedures
- Providing client support and communications
- Advising clients by phone and by email
Qualifications:
- Previous administration experience
- Very well organized and committed to high standards of work
- Familiarity with BC workplaces and employment laws and practices is an asset
- Ability to work independently and remotely
