JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Fleet Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Lower Mainland fleet and yard. The Fleet Coordinator must be able to effectively communicate with all construction and services teams. The Fleet Coordinator is responsible for assisting in management of an organized and efficient fleet operation pertaining to cleanliness, communication, inventory, deliveries, support, and ongoing projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
ADMINISTRATION
- Support with all new truck set ups.
- Responsible for maintaining branch appearance according to branch standards guidelines.
- Monitor email requests from staff, pull and prepare orders, inform team and assign supervisors/projects within tracking software.
- Controls tools inventory management through cycle counts and stock adjustments.
- Purchasing and re-stocking of all items pertaining to fleet and yard.
- Ensures that daily circle checks are being performed and any issues are reported.
- Follows proper procedure when opening and closing the yard.
- Attend regular meeting to evaluate fleet and equipment utilization.
- Manage the consumables and inventory process for the company:
- Ensures that inventory is stored in such a way that product loss is prevented due to human error or weather.
DELIEVERIES
- Accept all deliveries that come to the yard and communicate with stakeholders on the location of delivery.
- Provide help to the Fleet team when required.
- Help with pickups and drop offs of fleet and equipment.
- Mechanic Support:
- Deliver large equipment such as Excavators and skid steers (including pick up from rental companies to mitigate delivery costs).
- Collaborate with the Ops teams:
- Load and prepare any in-house rental equipment for safe pickup and delivery to sites.
- In-House mechanic coverage during vacations and training.
- Support in Repairs and Maintenance
- Help with ongoing certification of our attachments.
YARD/OFFICE
- Help coordinate office maintenance and ongoing improvements.
- General cleanup of yard and shop.
- Management of material bins.
- Sell unutilized materials and equipment as instructed by the Fleet Manager.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
- Red Seal or Automotive or Heavy Equipment certifications an asset.
- Post-secondary education in industry related topics
EXPERIENCE
- Heavy Trailer Endorsement required (or Class 3 no air brakes)
- Mechanical aptitude
- Purchasing and inventory management, an asset
- Experience driving a truck andtrailer.
- Small and large engine mechanics experience, an asset
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record (No major violations in last 5 years)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to deal with conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Excellent map reading comprehension an
- Strong computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong oral and written communication skills, some public speaking is
- Excellent command of the English language
- Demonstrated safe driving
- Strong organizational and tracking skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong knowledge of navigating the Lower Mainland an asset
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires walking, bending, twisting, and lifting in excess of 50lbs is required on occasion. Individuals should be in average physical condition to be able to complete the requirements of the position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires the individual to work both indoor and outdoor settings. The indoor setting is a normal shop environment while the outdoor setting may require work in extreme heat, cold, rain and wind.

- Kilometer reimbursement for personal vehicle usage
- 15 days of paid time off (10 vacation, 5 sick days) Available immediately, Vacation prorated to start date for the first year of employment.
- Starting base wage of $50,000-$65,000 commensurate with experience.
- Company discretionary bonus (after 1 year of employment starting before Oct 31st).
