Position Summary
Teladoc Health is transforming how people access and experience healthcare. Recognized as the world leader in virtual care, we are partnering with hospitals and health systems to address key challenges in Canadian Healthcare. Teladoc Health offers a range of remote presence devices to healthcare organizations wanting to extend the reach of their clinicians and deliver exceptional virtual care services that improve the patient and provider experience. Teladoc Health has also developed Solo, a software platform that coordinates the various streams of virtual care across the health enterprise and can support patient visits all the way from emergency to inpatient to home care.
The Account Executive is responsible for nurturing relationships and expanding our client base (full sales cycle) across the Canadian health sector, with a key focus on our virtual care platforms and remote presence devices. Upon implementation of Teladoc Health's solutions, the Account Executive will also be responsible for driving high client satisfaction; this includes participating in, and coordinating, activities such as training, clinical program expansion, business intelligence reporting, and regular touchpoints. The ideal candidate will be based near Toronto, and lead sales across Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland and the Maritime Provinces, etc.
Role and Responsibilities
- Be the central point of contract for Teladoc HHS fir customers, partners, and alliances
- Routinely update Salesforce.com; sales pipeline, prepare accurate sales forecasts
- Conduct Executive Presentations to drive visionary, enterprise-wide solutions which maximize patients’ access to high-quality, cost-effective care, anywhere - while building customer brand. In parallel, drive use-case based solutions and sales across Emergent, Inpatient, and Outpatient/Ambulatory environments.
- Land strategic projects and partnerships across Canadian healthcare, with particular focus in areas such as TeleStroke, Virtual ICU/PICU, Virtual Nursing, and rural, remote and indigenous communities.
- Effectively manage multiple sales opportunities simultaneously; moving them through a sales pipeline and process that concludes with customers committing to multi-year agreements
- Transition projects seamlessly to operations teams
- Frequent travel to client sites, healthcare events and conferences.
- Maintain and build industry/virtual health knowledge
- Monitor competitive activity, trends, and report on all sales activities
- Close sales, driving Canada HHS to exceed annual revenue goals pertaining to New, Expansion and Renewal opportunities
- Complete all assigned training assignments
- Develop relationships with, and effectively present HHS solutions, to both administrative and clinical leaders, including Strategy (CEO, COO, VPs of Strategy and Population Health), IT (CIO, CTO, CMIO), Clinical (Chairperson, Medical Director, EVP Clinical), and Digital Health (VP, Virtual Care, Telehealth)
- Be responsible for driving high customer satisfaction; organizing and leading effective Quarterly Business Reviews
- Contribute to weekly internal team meetings, one-on-one development discussions
- Coordinate with Teladoc HHS colleagues to effectively present, design, sell, contract, and implement solutions that help our clients address clinical challenges and deliver on their virtual health care objectives.
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of HHS’s solutions; being the Subject Matter Expert (SME) of many topics; being the connector on others, bringing other SMEs into the sales, design, contracting, and implementation processes
- Other duties as required
- Successfully sell Teladoc Hospitals and Health Systems (HHS) enterprise virtual care platform, remote presence devices and other services and solutions to Canadian healthcare organizations such as Health Authorities, Ministries of Health, Long-term care centres, home and community care organizations and other institutions responsible for delivering patient care in Canada.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
The ideal candidate is an ambitious and dynamic individual with a passion for and experience in business development and sales to hospitals and health systems. He/she brings a strong strategic mindset, is highly customer-centric in their approach and very hands-on and action-oriented. The Account Executive will be responsible for leading healthcare conversations, growing our brand awareness and developing revenue-generating relationships simultaneously; therefore, a strong understanding of patient care, healthcare delivery, and/or clinical experience will lead to more successful client conversations. The candidate will be able to ramp up activity with hospitals quickly so a previously established network will be helpful.

- High working knowledge of PC based applications, Salesforce.com, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Travel (25-30%) throughout territory may be required
- Visionary – the ability to consult, gain consensus, and drive action-based outcomes, both short-term and long-term
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Fluency in French is desirable, but not mandatory
- Track record selling/closing high-value solutions >$500K
- Negotiate contracts within acceptable company parameters
- 4-year degree or equivalent experience
- Multitasking
- Sales process and success has necessitated C-Suite engagement
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated sales success (full sales cycle), strong preference within the industry of enterprise software (SaaS), medical device, OR other national healthcare products or services
