Job Description

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, National Sales & Distribution, the Business Development Associate, Sales is a strategic partner working as part of a sales team to achieve and exceed a specific sales target from a select channel of Investment Advisors within a defined sales territory.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Activities

  • Work in partnership with the VP, Sales supporting and implementing their sales strategy and follow-up programs
  • Focus on generating sales, target attainment, working with IIROC and MFDA advisors in a predetermined sales territory
  • Identifying new business opportunities, establishing relationships accordingly and responding to the specific needs of new and existing clients.
  • Conducting 75-100 outbound calls per week
  • Participation in weekly sales team meetings providing insights from your region, with a focus on assisting the team to achieve its sales goals
  • Provide product feedback, marketing and competitive intelligence and sharing sales and product ideas with the Sales and Marketing team.

Administrative Activities

  • Prepare sales materials, scheduling road trips and completing follow up
  • Scheduling presentation meetings with clients and prospects (in person or virtual)
  • Participating in marketing events, dealer/industry conferences, and various campaigns as required and pre-approved
  • Asist in the management of territory expenses appropriately, to ensure the territory’s budget is on target - includes co-op, travel, promotional items and entertainment.
  • Produce ad-hoc salesforce reports, Morningstar comparisons, competitor analysis
  • Update and leverage Salesforce daily to help with data tracking, sales forecasting, budgeting, sales campaigns
  • Respond to client inquiries and deliver service in line with company service standards


Requirements

  • Proven track record achieving sales targets and driving sales growth
  • Technical skills and knowledge: completion of the CSC.CFA/CAIA/CIM, Sales training – Fusion, Sequoia or equivalent are all positives
  • Some overtime will be required for the role
  • Understanding of capital markets, sales practices, product development, pricing & structuring, industry compensation models
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the financial services industry
  • Commitment to continuous learning to enhance professional growth and effectiveness within the Starlight Capital Sales Team
  • Education level: University / College Degree or equivalent experience in the investment industry
