About The Job:


  • We are currently seeking a Vice President of Finance and Administration. The position will be responsible for the financial and administrative management of the business with the timely and accurate completion of accounting results including financial reporting to TICO, financial management reporting, financial planning and control, commodity taxes and funding reporting compliance. These reporting functions are important for accurate TICO consolidation and tax reporting compliance. In addition, this position will also be responsible for all treasury functions ensuring full compliance with both global and Company policies and procedures.

What You’ll Do:

As a leader and member of the executive management team, you will participate and champion various alignment and strategic initiatives to achieve the performance expectations of TICFC and the goals and visions of TIGCF & TICO.

Working with your team:

  • Build reporting and a trusting relationship with TICO finance and accounting management for reliable (accurate and timely) reporting including responding to accounting queries.
  • Apply knowledge of accounting and reporting processes, engage with other senior management team in implementing accounting interfaces or new products, systems, and processes.
  • Prepare and file timely and accurate reports to satisfy requirements, investment partners, shareholders, board of directors, etc.
  • Support the finance group in financial, planning and control.
  • Manage treasury functions in full compliance with both global and Company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee capital structure in full compliance with guidelines to maximize shareholder value.
  • Administer HR related matters and partner with Corporate TICF HR.
  • Develop credible and accurate budgets and forecasts.
  • Co-manage all aspects of the general ledger including interface with sub-systems of account payable, cash management/treasury, Info-Lease and Aspire (retail lease administration systems), Wi (wholesale and inventory management system), and G-Treasury (treasury management system).
  • Monitor cash balances, forecasts and arranging for debt financing and equity financing.
  • Manage mix of debt and equity for maximum value.

Working Relationships, Management and Decision Expectations/Authority

Provide effective financial leadership for the company. Participate in the development and evaluation of short and long-term financial and strategic objectives. Establish and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, board members, shareholders and to incorporate their perspectives when devising business solutions. Liaise with internal and external auditors and other business partners. Recruit, train and retain talented Associates. Drive Associate development and engagement.

Qualifications You’ll Need:

Experience:

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting (including some knowledge of IFRS & US GAAP) principles and concepts in order manage all accounting and reporting functions of the organization.
  • Completed post-secondary education (or equivalent work experience) is required. Additional professional qualification in accounting (e.g., CPA, former CGA or CMA, CA) is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years financial leadership, preferably in banking or a federally regulated financial institution, ideally with progressive growth in Finance, Treasury, Accounting and Tax. Equipment leasing and structured financing experience is an asset.

Skills Required:

  • As a smaller organization (~25 Associates), you must be comfortable being hands-on to apply your knowledge and experience to perform some of these tasks as necessary to achieve the performance and goals of the organization.

  • Strong problem-solving, verbal and written communication, planning, organizational and presentation skills
  • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to hire, coach, develop, and retain a strong team.

  • Establish credibility throughout the organization and set the example as a proactive leader who earns respect by demonstrating a sound understanding of finance, business goals and objectives.
  • Leadership skills are required to engage with other senior management in developing and evaluating ideas, implementing process changes and interfaces with new products and systems.
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical skills, ability to work in quantitative environment.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, the ability to build consensus and put a strong emphasis on responsibility and accountability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization as well as with Associates at remote locations.
