TBC markets on a wholesale basis to regional tire chains and distributors serving independent tire dealers throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico. SCOA is the largest subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation (SC), one of Japan’s major integrated trading and investment business enterprises. In 2018 Michelin, the largest tire manufacturer in Europe, invested in the company which is now a 50:50, privately held joint venture between Sumitomo and Michelin.
Description
The Division Vice President is responsible for developing and implementing strategic direction of franchise sales for the organization, meeting annual budget objectives, managing expenses and leading the division infrastructure in an effective and efficient manner. This role will lead and support the development of activities to improve Division operations, grow sales and profits while increasing the value of our new and existing franchisee network of locations.
Job Responsibilities
- Proactively supervises Midas Tactical and Strategic objectives to ensure initiatives are on-schedule and on budget to drive brand continuity results
- Lead the Franchise Business Consultants (FBC’s), Franchise Operations Specialists (FOS’s) and Franchisees in the improvement of store operations and operational excellence leading to the growth of retail sales, increasing dealer profitability, growing the franchisee’s business while upholding Midas’ best practices, polices, and procedures
- VP will leverage and integrate the core competencies of the TBC Corporation to execute the TBC Franchise Group’s “Big 4” strategic priorities:
- 1. Grow Same Store Sales
- Manage franchise support departments relations and execution for business and franchisee needs
- 4. Grow our tire business at Midas.
- Conduit between Division Midas field, TBC corporate functional teams & Franchisees: Active Participant in Midas Governance Process – Streams. (Governance committees, FAC, IMDA, Conventions etc.)
- 3. Enforce Store brand standards (Operations / Processes / brand equity / Customer Centricity)
- Collaborate with VP of Real Estate & VP Development on strategy to source new store and regional opportunities for existing and new franchisees
- 2. Grow our Number of Stores
Qualifications
- Proficient in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- 6 + years of experience in customer care/ satisfaction in a retail environment
- Must reside in Canada, preferably Toronto
- A clear understanding of income statements, balance sheet management, and cash flow
- Experience in customer relationship management
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Management or a related field of study. MBA desirable
- Previous experience in a franchise operation with wide geographical footprints
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly grasp new concepts and use a facilitative style to gather information for decision making
- Thorough understanding of franchising, franchise laws, and franchisee relations
- Ability to implement and monitor a strong internal quality improvement program
- Previous experience in a fast-paced environment requiring strict organization, efficiency, and attention to detail
- Occasional nights and weekends are required to support franchisees
- Approximately 50% travel expected
- 10 - 12 + years Management experience with similar employer/ industry
