Job Description

About The Role


As Vice President, Digital Commercial Technology you will oversee the development and deployment of cutting-edge digital commercial solutions, leading a global team of engineers, testers, business analysts, while patterning with business leaders to drive the growth of digital offerings for Thomson Reuters customers.


The ideal candidate for this role is expected to have outstanding engineering, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. This candidate will be data-driven, self-motivated, intellectually curious, a fast learner, detail-oriented, and able to move quickly while staying focused on high impact projects.


Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:


  • Lead, mentor, and grow the digital commercial technology team, ensuring they have the resources and direction needed to succeed.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Partner with other executive team members to ensure technology strategies are integrated with corporate and divisional strategies. Work with leadership team and comms support to identify plan/strategy.
  • Oversee the digital commercial technology budget, ensuring investments align with strategic priorities and yield maximum return.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, partners, and vendors to understand the evolving digital landscape and identify potential areas of collaboration.
  • Establish protocols and standards to ensure the security and compliance of our digital solutions.
  • Continuously evaluate potential risks associated with our digital commercial technology initiatives and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of digital solutions for commercial functions, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Promote and ensure the adoption of best practices in digital product development, quality assurance, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, operations, and other departments to identify opportunities for digital enhancements and integrations.
  • Monitor technology trends and developments, recommending investments and partnerships that can enhance our digital commercial capabilities.
  • Develop and implement the strategic roadmap for commercial digital technology solutions aligned with our business goals.


About You


To be considered for the role, you will need to have


  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to present in front of senior executives as well as write clearly, concisely, and compellingly
  • Experience working with a global team in multiple time zones
  • Strong understanding of the latest trends in digital technology, e-commerce, data analytics, and customer experience solutions.
  • Bold enough to challenge the status-quo with strong thought leadership and influential communication skills
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing digital strategies in a commercial setting.
  • Proven effective project management capability in a highly matrixed, customer-centric organization
  • Ability to forge strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High energy and contagious enthusiasm.
  • Experience with enterprise-wide transformation projects. May lead some of the transformation projects.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology roles, with at least 5 years in leadership positions related to digital commercial technology.
