The Role


With Equinix's focus on digital transformation across the company globally, we are seeking an exceptional VP IT Transformation and Business Operations for the Office of the CIO (OCIO) to


  • Operationalize execution on the IT strategy within IT and across the company to support the company’s Future of Platform strategy ensuring strategic outcomes are met
  • Lead strategic and critical initiatives for transformation of IT capabilities – Projects to Product Operating Model, Scaled Agile, Developer Experience, IT Sustainability
  • Drive the Platform IT strategy in alignment with CIO and business priorities


Reporting to the EVP & Global CIO, we’re seeking a high-caliber IT business operations leader with strong capabilities who can lead this transformation by creating evolved focus on IT operating mechanisms, IT transformation programs for improved user experiences and overall IT organization maturity as we continue to scale globally.


The leader will be a key partner with executives within IT working with them to create strategy and operating mechanisms that enable us to build capabilities and function as a coordinated and optimized system that delivers value for our customers.


Responsibilities:


  • Align and interlocks with key stakeholders across the organization to monitor and manage capital efficiency and capital management, drive alignment and collaboration of key strategic priorities, including potential M&A activity, and ensure focus on the most strategic projects
  • Lead an Agile PMO function to drive best in class project management capabilities including strong cross functional alignment, defining and measuring project outcomes and execution, and managing budget and risks.
  • Drive the IT Transformation and roadmap including changes to process, capability and mindset
  • Drive enhancements to IT Communications to drive adoption of IT tools and technology with targeted messaging across segments and personas
  • Lead the business review processes for business/strategic planning, developing OKR’s, budget and ROI for the CIO organization
  • Enhance IT engagement on Equinix on Equinix through defining process for Sales prospecting support, Customer Zero case studies
  • Lead operationalization of Citizen IT framework, platform and tools
  • Evolve the governance of technology projects delivered by IT for the enterprise including streamlining processes for intake, funding, monitoring and alignment
  • Lead a team of about 40 employees to foster operational excellence and a mindset of outcome-based planning and execution across IT
  • Work closely with Senior leaders of IT Teams to provide a consistent/successful holistic interface and approach to solving business problems and needs.
  • Ensure the optimization of the IT function via end-to-end performance monitoring and optimization, through meaningful data, metrics, insights and reporting to proactively enable effective business decisions
  • Develop mechanism for global user listening and analysis to inform IT Strategy, drive strategy execution and user experience
  • Act as an internal and external evangelist of IT strategy and culture
  • Lead consolidation of RPA/Bot initiatives for centralized visibility, prioritization and development
  • Manage the IT budget in partnership with Finance supporting IT leaders to be financially efficient


Knowledge and Experience sought:


  • Strong business acumen as well as an understanding of product and technology transformation with effective agile development and thinking

  • Thought leader, out of box thinker with ability to creatively solve problems with limited resources and input, comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
  • 15+ years of experience at a high-growth tech company, or technology-focused enterprise in business operations or technology-centric consulting organization
  • Excellent leadership capability to recruit, develop, inspire and empower talent and build high-performing teams
  • Masters Degree in Product Management or Business Technology preferred
  • Proven ability to build an organization that is “in service to” our employees and customers, whilst delivering operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Track record of delivering change and run within the OCIO (or similar) at global scale
  • Proven success in leading Platform IT and execution of Project to Product transformations end-to-end


The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:


San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $213,000 to $373,000


California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $207,000 to $363,000


Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $197,000 to $345,000


Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.


This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.


The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
