Senior Vice President of Operations at Lifemark Health Group


Status: Permanent full time

Location: Canada. Lifemark's head office is situated in North York, ON.

Stepping into the role of Senior Vice President, Operations at Lifemark is more than just assuming a position; it's an opportunity to catalyze positive change in community health. You'll oversee our expansive network of over 320+ clinics, powered by a team of over 5000 health and wellness professionals. As the Company’s senior-most operator, you'll play a vital role in executing against our growth and transformation goals, while nurturing an inclusive, people-focused culture.


This role will be replacing our current Chief Operating Officer who is retiring in the spring of 2024.


The Opportunity:


As the SVP, Operations, you'll lead and supervise the daily operations of clinics, programs, and enablement functions throughout Lifemark. Serving as the most senior operations leader, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's future, ensuring the delivery of outstanding client and patient experience. Based in Toronto, you'll have responsibilities spanning across Canada. This role directly reports to the President and CEO of Lifemark Health Group, Sonya Lockyer.

Key Accountabilities


Operational Strategy and Leadership


  • Offer guidance and support to a team of 7 VPs/Senior Directors overseeing various operating and enablement divisions, including clinic operations, specialty programs, Veterans’ care, post-acquisition and merger integrations, real estate and facilities strategy, and operations excellence.
  • Foster diversity, inclusivity and interdisciplinary collaboration, promoting engagement and holistic patient care.
  • Develop and execute the company's operational strategy in alignment with its people-first, growth-focused approach.


Clinic Performance Management


  • Monitor clinic network performance, analyze and report on KPIs, and promptly address areas of underperformance.
  • Refine and standardize the operating model for scalable growth while maintaining superior quality and patient experience.
  • Develop an operating strategy and execution plan to optimize the current operating footprint.


Process Optimization and Standardization


  • Implement technology solutions to enhance workflow efficiency, patient experience, and data-driven decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and standardize operational procedures across clinics, considering regional differences.


Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance


  • Partner with the Quality Assurance team to ensure clinics meet and surpass industry standards and healthcare regulations.
  • Champion patient safety initiatives and ensure adherence to federal, provincial, and local regulations.


Resource Allocation and Budget Management


  • Monitor financial performance and implement cost-saving strategies without compromising patient care.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Finance to formulate and manage clinic operational budgets, ensuring resource optimization.


Stakeholder Engagement


  • Cultivate positive relationships with medical professionals, government bodies, insurers, and community partners to elevate the organization's reputation and opportunities.


Change Management and Growth Initiatives


  • Lead strategic initiatives to drive clinic network expansion, manage change, and foster innovation.
  • Work closely with Corporate Development on Lifemark’s growth strategy through acquisition and merger opportunities


Employee Development and Team Building


  • Mentor and inspire leaders, enhancing their skills and leadership capabilities.
  • Cultivate continuous learning, growth, and employee development within the operations team and across clinics.


Professional Qualifications and Experience:


  • Proven track record of managing diverse, national teams in high-growth environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong financial and operational acumen, with budget management and cost-saving strategy experience.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • 10-15 years of senior operational leadership experience.
