About the Role:
The Vice-President, Communications Plus Company Canada (PCC), is responsible for all communications for the PCC set of agencies under the PCC umbrella reporting into Melanie Dunn, President Plus Company Canada and CEO Cossette on a national scale for both internal and external audiences. This role will report directly to the President of Plus Company Canada for all external and agency specific communications and a dotted report into SVP Talent in Canada for internal employee related communications and act as their key advisor and counsel on all things communication. This role will have both a direct and indirect team of communication specialists supporting the communication mandates.
The VP represents and promotes PCC Agencies, increasing its visibility and supporting their mission, vision and goals. The VP leads the development and implementation of a world-class communications plan to promote, enhance and protect their reputation in the marketplace.
The VP will leverage a broad range of communications and public relations activities to position the organizations, leadership teams, drive business development and support top talent attraction in all relevant markets.
This individual will be an agency ambassador and sustain key relationships with stakeholders including clients and media.
The Vice President will lead, inspire, mentor and engage a team of geographically dispersed professionals who will support and bring to life the agencies’ marketing and communications plans. This individual is a key member of the National Leadership Team, and will have oversight over a distinct marketing and communications budget and a clear resourcing structure.
What You’ll Do:
  • Creates a collegial, team-building work environment, motivating staff and cultivating productive, collaborative relationships with all partners.
  • Develop, execute, and oversee programs necessary to communicate the brands within the marketplace.
  • Provides leadership and vision for agencies’ strategic communications functions.
  • Leads and directs the marketing and communications staff who coordinate with all departments and network agencies to:
  • Develops and executes comprehensive, long-term and proactive Agency-wide communications strategies consistent with the strategic goals, plans, and aspirations of the agencies.
  • Serves as the agencies’ communication strategist, with the responsibility of positioning the Company in the market, determining target audiences and maintaining the desired reputation.
  • Creates communications strategy that will allow leaders to cultivate and enhance meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external audiences, including the media and key stakeholders.
  • Identify challenges and emerging issues faced by the organization, working with leadership team and staff to recognize internal and external marketing and communications opportunities and solutions, and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them.
  • Design and drive social media strategies and tactics
  • Develop communications policies, prioritize media opportunities, prepare talking points, speeches, presentations, written content, special publications, and perform other related hands-on functions.
  • Ensure strategic integration of Plus Company network internal communications.
Who You Are:
  • 10 plus years of experience in communications, agency experience is considered an asset
  • Experience in internal communications
  • Passion for integrated communications.
  • Excellent at thinking on your feet.
  • Highly accountable and organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Strong mentor and coach with previous people management experience
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual (French and English) would be considered an asset
  • Previous senior management experience
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with plan execution.
