Overview


Ethoca, a Mastercard company, is seeking a Vice President of Software Engineering to lead the Alerts product engineering teams in North America.


To drive our future growth, we need to continue to scale and enhance our flagship Alerts product, inclusive of re-architecting as we move from on premise to Mastercard’s Azure Cloud Platform. Ethoca’s growth is explosive, and only great problem-solvers, collaborators, and thinkers can help us take it to the next level. We want to hire leaders that are eager to have influence on scaling processes, people, and technology.


You will collaborate with other technology and business leaders to develop and execute upon our strategic roadmap, aligning with Mastercard’s business objectives.


Role


  • Develop strategic plans and roadmaps that are in line with Mastercard’s goals and vision.
  • Build and maintain relationships with other technology groups within Mastercard (dependencies, integrations, best practices, etc).
  • Support the ongoing growth/scale of the Alerts Engineering organization, inclusive of mentoring/coaching our leaders of tomorrow, achieving our DEI goals, making hybrid work successful, and ensuring productive collaboration across time zones.
  • Collaborate with other Ethoca teams (product management, platform, data science and engineering, customer success, operations) to design, build, and support product and services to meet customer needs.
  • Ensure the success of our re-architecture initiative and journey to the cloud by keeping revenue growth and customer experience at the forefront of planning.
  • Lead our best-in-class Alerts Engineering organization in North America which attracts and retains top talent.


VP-Software Engineering-Alerts


  • Ensure the teams are following software engineering best practices, working efficiently, and always looking for ways to improve.
  • Ensure the product and services we are building on Azure Cloud are performant, scalable, secure, and cost efficient.
  • Partner with program management and take responsibility for planning and delivering projects on time.

  • You have experience leading teams through a large scale re-architecture that involves breaking down a monolithic application and migrating to the cloud.
  • Your leadership style is based on building trust with your team, your peers, and your management and especially leading by example.
  • You have strong collaborative and organizational skills and you value transparency
  • You regularly lead retrospection, and continually improve as a result.
  • You possess strong communication skills - both verbal and written – and are able to get your point across efficiently to a wide range of audiences.
  • As a technically astute leader, your recognized subject matter expertise allows you regularly dive deep into everything your teams do.
  • You are a hands-on, technical and people leader able to manage directly and through others.
  • You have strong decision-making skills, and you have a bias for action rather than drawn-out analysis because you understand that most decisions are not irreversible.
  • You are an experienced leader who can operate at the executive level and represent Alerts Engineering in discussions/collaboration/strategy with other executives within Ethoca, across Mastercard, and externally as well.
  • You have an ability to simultaneously manage short-term priorities and long-term initiatives.
  • You are obsessed with results, and effectively define and communicate objectives and how success will be measured to your teams and other stakeholders.
