Sr. Content Manager and Producer

What is the opportunity?

RBC Direct Investing Personal Savings and Investment is hiring a content producer and manager to join an experienced editorial content team for a one-year contract position. The Producer will work with a broad range of businesses as well as marketing, digital and communication teams to lead the development and distribution of compelling digital content experiences that advance investment and savings literacy for Canadians. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing workflow, content needs, formats and versions. You are a highly organized and creative content professional with great ideas and the track record that gives you the experience to bring them to life. You can write compelling copy that connects and motivates readers.

What will you do?

• Lead content development workflows collaborating with writers/editors for both English and French, including videos, podcasts, text and images. Manage external contributors, designers and writers, to ensure work meets goals and RBC DI standards.
• Work closely with the Head of Content and digital to ensure that we’re capturing needs, assignments and workflows. Create and manage the schedule and workflow; define and deliver on time.
• Write articles, scripts and all formats with fast turnarounds and clean copy. Demonstrate a tone that’s accessible and engaging. Mentor other writers to excellence.
• Be able to write compelling editorial content with strong messaging and a relatable tone and style.
• Work with partners and marketing to help maximize distribution channels and utilize content efficiencies. Create numerous content types as needed. Build relationships within RBC to maximize this process.
• As part of a robust content team, be the voice of the Canadian saver and investor.
• Write assignments and briefs to define projects for collaborators. Ensure projects are delivered on time and as assigned. Provide ongoing feedback, guaranteeing the best outcome and iterating where needed.
• Copy-edit, proofread and provide feedback that moves projects forward as part of a collaborative team of content creators and problem-solvers.

Must-have

• Excellent writing skills and clever ideas that connect with a broad consumer audience. Published samples required. Experience writing/developing a range of content, including video, social and newsletters.
• 5+ years’ experience managing content workflow on digital platforms. Experience working with many different teams to deliver on common goals. Ability to connect with investors or business-minded audiences through consistency, tone, and relevancy. Experience writing lifestyle content a plus.
• Experience launching new products and developing smart content destinations. Demonstrated relationship skills that help move projects and new ideas to the finish line. An ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders
• Organized and detailed-oriented with an ability to create schedules, follow workflows, build taxonomies and approval processes
• Technically savvy with an interest and ability to work with a broad range of tools, including WCMs, SEO, analytics, PowerPoint, file sharing and workflow systems
• A critical thinker who uses an iterative approach when it comes to testing content and optimizing daily
