About the role
This is a unique opportunity to work closely with business and finance leaders from Canada’s largest and most prominent organizations and influence how they respond to the sustainability challenges faced in the 21st century. The role will shape the strategy in the region and deliver tangible impact, accelerating progress towards sustainable business and a sustainable economy. For the right individual, there will the opportunity for fast promotion.
As background, A4S was established by HM King Charles III in 2004, when he was The Prince of Wales, "to help ensure that we are not battling to meet 21st century challenges with, at best, 20th century decision-making and reporting systems". Today we work with leading CFOs, investors, business schools, regulators and more to drive a fundamental shift towards resilient business models and a sustainable economy.
The A4S CFO Leadership Network brings together a group of leading CFOs from large organizations that are seeking to respond to environmental and social risks and opportunities by embedding into business strategy and processes. The network operates globally, with regional chapters in Europe, Canada, USA and Asia Pacific.
The role of the Senior Manager is to run the Canadian Chapter successfully, support the delivery of global projects, grow the network and develop A4S’s wider programme of activities across the region.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
- Work with the global A4S team to develop and deliver events, guidance and other outputs to help Canadian organizations to progress towards becoming sustainable businesses, as well as sharing leading practice with organizations globally.
- Lead the further development and delivery of the A4S CFO Leadership Network strategic plan for Canada ensuring it leverages, and is aligned with, A4S’s overarching global strategy as well as regional activities, growing the influence and impact of the Chapter.
- Play a key role in development and delivery of the A4S Academy (this will include facilitating sessions in North American time zones and furthering educational partnerships with others).
- Grow the Chapter, working closely with existing members to engage with other CFOs in the region.
- Build strong working relationships with the CFO members and their team, to support the completion of commitments and network project related activity.
- Develop and implement a Canadian outreach and engagement strategy, working closely with the A4S communications and events team to drive awareness and engagement across the region.

About you
You will have a passion for sustainable business, the ability to build strong relationships with very senior individuals and a track record of delivery at the highest level.
With ten years plus experience working in business, finance or accounting, you will also have familiarity or interest in the sustainable business and finance landscape. You will be comfortable working remotely as part of a global team, juggling multiple activities to enable efficient, effective, and timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
You will have strong written, verbal and presentation skills and the ability to establish and maintain very strong working relationships and interact with different stakeholders. You will have strong organization skills, including the ability to think and plan to develop responses before project delivery is impacted.
Proficiency in French is an advantage.
