The Opportunity


Unleash your leadership potential with an exciting opportunity with our freight forwarding client as a Sales Manager, Eastern Canada! They seek a resilient, energetic professional who’s ready to bring their A-game to a “player/coach” role, where you’ll not only strategize and lead but also take action to drive sales directly. Guiding a small and tight-knit team of representatives, you will empower them with your knowledge, inspire them with your success, and work together to break new ground.


Position Description


In this important position you will drive strategic sales initiatives and lead our Eastern Canada sales team in the freight forwarding industry. This hands-on leadership role is essential in shaping the direction of their sales efforts, meeting customer needs, and ensuring sustained business growth in the region.


  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Act as the face of the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings.
  • Actively participate in sales, demonstrating effective strategies and providing direct contribution to team targets.
  • Manage and negotiate freight rates and service contracts with customers.
  • Lead, motivate and coach a small team of sales representatives, ensuring they have the necessary resources and training to excel.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base in the Eastern Canada region.
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Accurately forecast and report sales metrics to senior management, providing insight into the market and competitors.


Experience


  • Demonstrable experience in a leadership role, managing and coaching a sales team.
  • At least 5 years of sales experience in the freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation industry.


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Proficiency in using CRM software and MS Office suite.
  • Strong knowledge of the Eastern Canada market and existing relationships within the industry.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and developing business strategies.
  • Fluency in English and French is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the region.


Education


Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or related field.
