The Payroll Supervisor's role is to work closely with the payroll team and payroll director to ensure smooth and accurate processing of payment cycles, payroll reports, time sheets, and fund allocations. Compliance with federal/provincial regulations and company policies is of utmost importance in all these processes. Additionally, the Payroll Supervisor will take on the responsibility of enhancing existing procedures and addressing any inquiries related to employee pay.

Furthermore, the position entails supervising the payroll technicians responsible for processing payroll for the Canadian studios.

In summary, the Payroll Supervisor's key responsibilities include: Collaborating with the payroll team to process payment cycles and ensure accuracy in payroll reports, time sheets, and fund allocation. Ensuring compliance with applicable federal/provincial regulations and company policies. Improving existing procedures to enhance efficiency as well as addressing any questions regarding payroll, from Studios, HR or employees.

• Provides accurate and timely data and information, interpreting and applying applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Maintains a variety of payroll data, files, and registers for compliance and auditing purposes
• Performs other related tasks as required
• Processes bi-weekly payments for all salaried and hourly employees
• Troubleshoots and resolves problems, identifying possible errors or negative consequences of systems modifications related to compliance and service issues
• Compiles payroll data, including wage garnishments, time off, insurance plans, and other deductions
• Supervises the work of the Canadian payroll technicians
• Ensures accurate and timely changes in salaries according to payment periods
• Develops internal procedures and documentation for implementing changes
• Adheres to all company procedures and policies
• Communicates with project managers to ensure staff hours worked are approved
• Plans, organizes, supervises, coordinates, monitors, and troubleshoots payroll processing functions
• Stays up-to-date with the latest payroll regulations, norms, and work methods
• Assumes full responsibility for the payroll processes in the absence of the Payroll Manager

Requirements

• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and validation
• University degree in accounting or another related field;
• Good planning and organizing, problem-solving analysis and decision-making skills.
• Ability to evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements to payroll processing and other routine tasks
• Energy, precision and analytical rigor;
• Good team spirit and collaboration;
• English & French, both spoken and written
