Generate payroll reports and provide financial data for management and accounting purposes.

Accurately process payroll on a regular basis, ensuring that all employee compensation, deductions, and benefits are calculated correctly.

Maintain accurate and confidential employee records related to payroll, benefits, and timekeeping.

Assist employees with inquiries related to their payroll and benefits, providing exceptional customer service.

Strong administration and organizational skills.

Strong time management and organizational skills to deliver on multiple tasks and projects under tight deadlines

Track, manage, and oversee resolution of open implementation issues/items

Proactively communicate with customers to keep them apprised of project status and ensure they are on track with assigned responsibilities

3+ years of software implementation experience

3+ years of HR and/or payroll experience

Configuration, testing & data mapping experience

Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certifications is an asset

Minimum of 5 years of work experience - previous experience in payroll administration is a must

• Performs detailed year-end procedures; balances payroll and tax accounts, verifies taxable benefits and preparation of T4s.

• Performs other related duties, responsibilities and functions as assigned.

• Minimum of three (3) years of direct, large-scale payroll experience.

• Experience within a unionized workplace is preferred.

• Demonstrated working knowledge of integrated computer payroll, human resources (Payworks) and accounting information systems (Financial Edge).

Significant experience with the management of collective agreements.

Excellent time management, organizational skills, and ability to work with tight deadlines.

Knowledge of current Canadian Legislative requirements and CRA regulations.

Oversees procedures and processes and manages inquiries and requests related to preparation and distribution of payroll

Design, test, and implement new processes, requiring a thorough knowledge of the payroll processes and comprehension of departmental concerns.

Backup for the Payroll Manager.

Manage recording and accounting of employee benefits, including P11d submissions

Manage payroll systems and liaising with payroll systems suppliers to resolve issues and queries

Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements and support internal and external audits

Experience of managing end to end payroll processes

Detailed knowledge of PAYE and regulations

Experience of manual calculations, and payment and deduction types

Inputs payroll data for clients

Assumes full responsibility for the payroll processes in the absence of the Payroll Manager

Communicates with project managers to ensure staff hours worked are approved

Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and validation

Good planning and organizing, problem-solving analysis and decision-making skills.

Plans, organizes, supervises, coordinates, monitors, and troubleshoots payroll processing functions

Troubleshoots and resolves problems, identifying possible errors or negative consequences of systems modifications related to compliance and service issues

Leadership to the payroll team, monitor team performance, coaching and mentoring to direct reports and lead overall process management

5+ years of Canadian payroll related work experience in a leadership position

Previous experience with Workday (an asset) but not a must

Canadian Payroll experience a must

College/University degree in Business/HR with at least 5 years of Canadian payroll related work experience in a leadership position

Excellent knowledge of payroll accounting and payroll business processes

Benefit management, including system alignment with vendor contract and plan documents.

Full cycle Canadian payroll management to include all facets of the payroll process.

Communicate with Senior Management and escalate concerns as appropriate

Submit weekly status update to PayTech management each week for billing purposes

Manage both internal and external audits of client information to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance and resolve audit discrepancies.

Consult on system upgrades, to include coordination of client deliverables, testing requirements and successful go-lives.

Strong time management and organizational skills to deliver on multiple tasks and projects under tight deadlines

Advanced subject matter expertise of Human Capital Management (HCM) concepts and systems (HR and Payroll)

Proactively communicate with customers to keep them apprised of project status and ensure they are on track with assigned responsibilities

5+ years of software implementation experience

Experience implementing complex HCM projects

Ability to handle ambiguity and adapt to changing requirements, processes, tools, and resources

Location: 100% Remote (Occasionally sometimes onsite attention required for meeting in Waterloo, ON)

5+ years of payroll experience

Previous experience in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion

Manage administration of new hires and departures in benefits program
