Minimum 2-4 years of experience in accounting or a related field, or a combination of relevant qualifications and experience.

General support to the Finance function and assist with other general accounting duties as an when required.

Minimum 1 year Canadian payroll experience

Experience in a similar position with general accounting, reconciliations, analysis, reporting, payables, and receivables is essential.

Proven abilities in Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, etc) including the ability to manipulate large volume of data.

Experience using Accounting Software required (Navision experience a plus).

Management of payroll emails by responding in a timely and professional manner.

Assist with preparation and reconciliation of all year-end reporting requirements.

Strong written and verbal customer service skills.

Maintain accurate and confidential employee records related to payroll, benefits, and timekeeping.

Assist employees with inquiries related to their payroll and benefits, providing exceptional customer service.

Strong administration and organizational skills.

Payroll Knowledge and experience: Strong understanding of payroll concepts, software, and systems with experience processing payroll for a diverse workforce.

Calculate and process taxable benefits, statutory holiday pay, commissions and other related complex payroll transactions accurately.

Compliance Expertise: Knowledge of federal, provincial, and local payroll regulations, tax filings, and remittances.

Technology Proficiency: Comfortable with new technology and specific experience with payroll software, cloud-based systems, and leveraging technology for process improvement.

Analytical Skills: Strong ability to review and analyze payroll data, conduct audits, and reconcile discrepancies.

Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to engage and collaborate with different internal and external stakeholders.

Temporary to Permanent position, benefits apply when hired

1-2 years previous billing experience

Payrate - $36,000-38,000 annually, will be paid on a weekly basis

Fulltime, Monday - Friday from 8:30AM - 5:00PM

Generating paper/electronic invoicing to drivers and clients

Ensuring all documentation matches: purchase orders, packing slips, billing documents, time sheets, and etc.

Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certifications is an asset

Assisting in payroll transactions including new hires, benefits, salary changes.

Minimum of 5 years of work experience - previous experience in payroll administration is a must

• Exceptional analytical, mathematical, problem solving, time management and communication skills.

• Performs detailed year-end procedures; balances payroll and tax accounts, verifies taxable benefits and preparation of T4s.

• Performs other related duties, responsibilities and functions as assigned.

• Minimum of three (3) years of direct, large-scale payroll experience.

• Experience within a unionized workplace is preferred.

• Demonstrated working knowledge of integrated computer payroll, human resources (Payworks) and accounting information systems (Financial Edge).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 80% - Payroll Processing

• Run, and review audit reports to ensure accuracy of payroll data.

• Perform testing support of payroll system patches and upgrades.

• Document and update departmental policies and procedures as needed.

• Perform various audits and review schedules of employee data.

• Coordinate closely with Payroll Accounting teams.

Significant experience with the management of collective agreements.

Excellent time management, organizational skills, and ability to work with tight deadlines.

Knowledge of current Canadian Legislative requirements and CRA regulations.

Oversees procedures and processes and manages inquiries and requests related to preparation and distribution of payroll

Design, test, and implement new processes, requiring a thorough knowledge of the payroll processes and comprehension of departmental concerns.

Backup for the Payroll Manager.

Manage recording and accounting of employee benefits, including P11d submissions

Manage payroll systems and liaising with payroll systems suppliers to resolve issues and queries

Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements and support internal and external audits

Experience of managing end to end payroll processes

Detailed knowledge of PAYE and regulations

Experience of manual calculations, and payment and deduction types

Accurate data entry skills (numeric and alpha-numeric)

Refers client problems and requests to appropriate Payroll Coordinator or Service Manager, maintaining timely and accurate communications with team

High school diploma or equivalent business experience (preferably in an office or payroll environment)

Inputs payroll data for clients

Preparation of monthly and quarterly payroll and benefits-related journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.

Provide support to the Payroll and Benefits Coordinator as needed (reporting, year-end reconciliation, payroll processing, etc.).

Maintain a high level of payroll, accounting, and human resources knowledge to provide value added payroll services.

Certification with the Canadian Payroll Association is strongly desired.

Detail oriented with analytical skills and ability to resolve and explain complex payroll issues.

Knowledge of Avanti and Kronos considered an asset.

Manage 3rd party Payroll providers (if applicable)

Follow up with managers/employees on missing documentation

Monitor changes in tax status of employees

Process and distribute manual checks

Maintain and administer employee earnings information

Maintain and administer applicable deductions

5+ years of experience as a Payroll Accountant or similar position

Post-secondary education in a related field

Experience with ADP WFN preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Processing hourly and salaried payroll

Onboarding new hires and processing terminations

Assumes full responsibility for the payroll processes in the absence of the Payroll Manager

Communicates with project managers to ensure staff hours worked are approved

Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and validation

Good planning and organizing, problem-solving analysis and decision-making skills.

Plans, organizes, supervises, coordinates, monitors, and troubleshoots payroll processing functions

Troubleshoots and resolves problems, identifying possible errors or negative consequences of systems modifications related to compliance and service issues

Strong organizational and time management skills

Knowledge of local agriculture industry and foreign worker program would be a definite asset

Famous Software experience and Sage 50 payroll experience preferred

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Prepare bi-weekly for over 300 employees

2+ years of proven leadership experience as a payroll manager or similar role

Build systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g., salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments)

Collaborate with auditors and manage payroll tax audits

5+ years of payroll experience
